Mint 1967 Mustang GTA S Code big block
1967 Ford Mustang Coupe Description
History-
The car is an original black plate California car, was built in San Jose and is an original "S" code (One of 4400 built) 390/C-6 auto car.
This car has several factory options that make it very rare:
Factory equipped with AIR CONDITIONING
Deluxe Pony Interior (BRUSHED ALUMINUM)
Aluminum overhead console with map lights
Tilt-Away steering
It was 1 of 127 cars equipped this way in Aqua. . .and very rare.
Evolution-
Previous owner spent over 7 years and $60,000.00 restoring and modifying this car. Much of the work was done by world class vendors. The restoration was completed in 2009 and has been driven about 10,000 miles since then.
This car an extremely high caliber, very drivable, resto-mod with NO EXPENSE SPARED! I wanted a car that maintained its original vintage style yet drove like a newer high powered sports car of today.
The original build spec and goals for the finished car included phases like
A car that creates a palpable visceral reaction when you get behind the wheel
A car that "wakes you up"

Engine/Drive train:
This is a custom built engine, not a buy it off the shelf crate engine!
Villegas Motorsports (of Southern California drag boat fame) built the engine and Grubbs motorsports did the dyno and machining work. Over $16k invested in this bullet. The goal was to create a bulletproof engine that made strong HP and could be driven every day; something that wasn't too loud or too thirsty but had plenty of giddy-up when you stepped on the GO pedal. They created an engine that was very drivable, very reliable, rugged as hell, and puts out 450 HP with 490 foot pounds of torque. They even took it a step further and built it to accept a 175 shot of Nitrous (though I've never run it on the bottle)!
The original block was removed, hot tanked, seasoned, line bored and punched out .20 over.
FORGED 429 Cobra Jet crank brings the displacement up to 409 cubic inches.

Suspension and Chassis
As mentioned earlier, this car was originally manufactured in California, is an original black plate California Car, and has lived its whole life in sunny, dry, Southern California before moving to Las Vegas. There is no rust on this car, has never had rust and, I have never had to replace any pieces due to rust.
This is the BEST HANDLING VINTAGE MUSTANG YOU WILL EVER DRIVE! BAR NONE!
Lowered 1 ½ inches and leveled, urethane bushings, bigger sway bars, custom A-arms, full floating rear end, sub-frame connectors and braces all make this car handle like a modern high-end sports car and is super fun to drive. The steering box is an adjustable Flaming River unit that alleviates the "super light touch" power steering that early Mustangs are known for and replaces it with a firmer feel that transmits road feel perfectly. This is the single best improvement I have ever made to a Mustang to improve its drivability. This car is tight, right, and ready to fight!
Suspension and brakes (all work performed by the vintage Mustang specialty shop, Marlo's Frame and Alignment, the owner is the founding member of All Mustangs and Ford Club of SoCal).
Custom upper and lower A-arms with accessible zurts.
Custom springs and leafs (lowered 1.5 inches all around and leveled).
Oversized sway bars front and rear.

Welded in sub frame connectors for rigidity
Chrome engine bay brace
Custom Flaming River power steering

Exterior
Much of the work was done by me, but the majority of the final assembly, fit and finish, and detail work was done by the renowned craftsmen at Mustangs Etc. (spent over $30K).
Entire body was brought to metal, faired, finished, and painted with a custom blue. The Shelby stripes match the color of the light aqua in the interior panels. The was no rust anywhere in the body only a couple of small dings and slight waves in the doors that needed to be hammered out.
All window trim and bumpers were removed, re-chromed, and reinstalled.
Lower rear valance was replaced
Shelby Chin Scoop was added
Billet grill
Tri-Bar headlamps
Body trim removed, filled, fared, and painted for the clean custom look

Electric door actuators installed in place of door handles. The doors open/operate off the key fob
Bullet style Super Chrome mirrors installed
Interior
Factory Pony Style Deluxe Interior has been completely redone by the renowned craftsmen at Mustangs Etc. Not only was the interior redone, but it was improved as much as possible by installing the best weather seals we could find and. . . installing $1,100 worth of Dynamat sound deadening material throughout the entire cabin. You can actually carry a conversation in this car with the windows up and not have to scream over the ambient noise level. . . unless of course you happen to be cranking the 1700 watt sound system, but we'll cover that next.
