2002 Saleen Mustang S281 SC #459
2002 Ford Mustang Saleen Description
2002 Saleen S281 SC #459 1 of 1 for sale. Car was purchased on eBay several years ago from a seller in Tennessee. Tennessee seller purchased the car from local Ford dealer. The original owner was former stock car racing driver Casey Atwood. There are 2 signatures, one on the fan shroud in the engine bay and the other on the passenger visor.
I've maintained this vehicle with routine visits to the Ford dealer for oil changes every 3,000 miles. Any repairs that were not performed by the Ford dealer were performed by reputable shops. Most recently, Revolution Automotive installed a new twin disc 1000 hp clutch, clutch cable and new magnaflow hi-flow x-pipe with catalytic converters $3,700. Prior to Revolution, the Ford dealer installed new tires and serviced the fans for the intercooler $2,300. Prior to that, I had plugs, wires, supercharger gasket and hoses replaced, intercooler serviced, etc...$5,300.
The miles on the vehicle are 95% highway miles, not city. No accidents. No pets in the car. Non-smoker. Interior is clean. Shifter knob shows wear. Radio bezel shows some wear. Wheels were replaced with aftermarket white wheels ( I have the original chrome Saleen wheels/center caps that will go with the car). I had one of the wheels stripped in hopes of repairing it but it was cheaper to get a new set of aftermarket wheels for the price of one wheel being repaired.
Car has normal wear and tear. There are scrapes on the front fascia as well as some yellowing around the body kit where the screen mesh is. I've used a clay bar to remove the yellowing on the paint due to the wire mesh inserts. Whoever purchases the car may consider having the ground effects repainted and have the mesh painted with a protective coating. The driver side undercarriage is slightly dented from a tire shop jacking up the car incorrectly. Windshield was previously replaced due to a horizontal crack along the windshield. The new windshield has a very small chip, but no crack.
The service engine light is on because there is a vacuum leak - Powertrain Control module PO171. I just had a smoke test ($208.99) performed by Revolution Automotive and advised from fuel pressure regulator to blower inlet is where the vacuum leak is. There are options to repair it. Tork Tech has a part to replace the OEM part with a more sophisticated design at $799 plus shipping and handling. You can contact Bill at Tork Tech Sales 513-697-0060 if you have questions.
Vehicle is sold as-is. Vehicle mileage may be higher because the car is periodically driven. I have expressed the condition of this vehicle as accurate, and to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions, please ask.
