1966 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon
1966 Ford Galaxie Country Squire Description
Here for your consideration is a well equipped 1966 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon. It has the Z code 390 4V engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, factory A/C, deluxe 7 Litre wheel covers, and the XL grille. I cannot document the low miles on this car, but here is what I know: The engine was removed from this car back in the late seventies for some unknown reason with supposedly the 29K miles that are showing now. It sat outside on a concrete pad for the next 40 years. An original 1966 Z code 390 was located, rebuilt and installed in the car. That is when I got it. I proceeded to rebuild the entire brake system, flush and repair the gas tank, install new tires, and finished connecting all aspects of the engine and transmission. While on a lift, I noticed virtually no wear on any of the original suspension components and a clean, rustfree floor and frame. The two doglegs and the bottom of the lefthand quarter has some rust. This is from water draining through them while sitting outside. The paint is 100% original, as well as the seats and door panels. There was a small hole in the headliner above one of the visors, so I replace the entire headliner. the carpet had been removed from the front to expose a flawless rustfree floorpan. I replace the full carpet set. There are a couple of small tears in the vinyl covered rear trim. Back to the mileage: When i drove this car for the first time, I knew within the first couple of miles that the mileage was the 29K indicated. (in my opinion) There are no rattles, the suspension is nice and tight, seat springs are not saggy, and it drives very nice. Again, no guarantee of the miles, but I can't imagine it being 129K. The tires have less than 500 miles on them. The A/C is not charged and there is no belt on it. Please email if you have any questions or need more pictures. If you are the winning bidder and personally come to get the car and feel that it is not as represented, you don't have to take it, however, if you send someone to get it without your personal inspection, it is yours, no complaints. I require full payment within seven days of auction's end. The car can remain here up to 90 days while you make shipping arrangements.
