1998 Ford Ranger 2 door flare/step side Description

LOCAL PICK UP ONLY AND AFTER OFFICIAL TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
Just passed inspection on 10/28/16 & fresh full synthetic oil change.
1998 Ford Ranger 2.5L 4 cylinder gets excellent mileage, automatic transmission, 2WD, has REMOTE START for those cold days, class III Reese hitch (with factory tow circuits on separate fuses), tonneau cover, bed liner, step side bed. Snow tires on the rear with full tread (14" wheels). Title in hand and everything on the truck works as it should. Transmission was replaced 3 years ago with a salvaged unit. Rebuilt basically the entire brake system with all new hard lines. See below for more parts and maintenance I've done to this truck. I have all the receipts and maintenance history as well. Regular 3000 mile oil changes and the truck has just under 140,000 miles on it. All reasonable offers considered.
I bought this truck from a co-worker for cheap about 3 years ago but literally I only drive it a few miles a week to Home Depot or Lowe's to grab some supplies. I have also driven it to Ohio and near NYC to pick up a couple motorcycles and it gave me no issues. Engine is surprisingly peppy and the check engine light has never come on. Parking brake is strong as is the rest of the braking. I've towed heavier loads short distances with no problem at all. The bumpers and wheels are rusted, and the body has the usual rust spots, but the hood and bed are aluminum. Rear tires have Glacier Grip snows with near full tread but the front tires are only in fair condition. Replacement transmission is set up for larger tires (~235 75 15) and speedometer reads a bit high. The converter is rusting along a seam and while it did pass inspection it is making moderate noise. The following repairs have been done as well as other small maintenance items (like new wiper blades, side mirror, etc):

127,700 miles, repairs from 3/16/13 to 7/16/13:

  • Replaced transmission -- salvaged unit
  • New intermediate pipe and flange gasket, clamps, new muffler hanger. Replaced all hard brake lines to rear brakes with new shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware, & adjusters. New left & right parking brake cables.
  • Replaced right front caliper (uses 4x4 caliper bracket) Flushed front brake lines with new fluid. New front brake rotors with oil seals, new right & left, inner and outer front wheel bearings, and new ceramic brake pads.
133,100 on 4/7/14 - New muffler
135,900 on 8/2015 - Replaced fuel filler neck
136,803 on 10/6/15 - Replaced hard brake line to left front wheel
138,980 on 10/24/16 - New outer tie rod ends and new brake line to right front wheel
