1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible with 302 swap and 5-speed
1963 Ford Falcon Description
For sale is my 1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible. Over my 10 years of ownership, the car has become a mild resto-mod that is fantastic to drive. I estimate the mileage to be 145,000, but with most major components being replaced or restored, the effective mileage is far less.
I am a highly experienced mechanic/shop owner by day (Andy Greene Sports & Vintage Race Cars) and performed all the upgrades on the car myself. I swapped out the original 260 V8 for a fresh 302 mated to a Borg-Warner T5 5-speed. The 302 also has a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and dual exhaust.
The chassis has its fair share of work too. The car now stops on front disc brakes, and the entire front suspension was completely rebuilt- shocks, bushings, ball joints, etc. In addition, steering is handled by a power rack and pinion.
The body is in great shape for the most part. The most noteworthy flaw is minor rust bubbles on the left rear quarter panel. The top is power operated; however, it does show its age and has minor scuffs here and there.
The interior is in good condition. The driver's seat has a couple minor tears, and the carpet is faded around the transmission tunnel. The door panels also have small paint chips. But, the cluster has new gauges, and the car looks very nice inside for its age.
Overall, this Falcon is mechanically excellent. It starts immediately, runs strongly, and drives extremely well.
