2007 Ford F-250 Crew Cab Pickup 4-Door Description

I have been thinking about how to describe this truck and I'm up to a couple drafts but I will try to make this as brief as possible. I mentioned in the "Condition Description" section that I have a medical condition, well I got diagnosed with a terminal illness (ALS) about 3 years ago and because my disease has progressed and caused weakness and shaking in my arms and legs I am not safe to be driving as of a couple months ago. So, I never thought I would sell this truck so that is why I'm up to a couple drafts in this item description. The pictures show you quite a bit so I am going to tell you what they don't show. I purchased this truck in January of 2007 and it was one of the last one hundred 2007s left in the state of Texas and 1 of 2 available King Ranch Editions left in Ford's inventory. That's why I purchased it because the salesmen were all pushing their 2008s with their new 6.4L engine and I wanted the 6.0L engine.
1. Ford did a lot of things right but they didn't on some areas. For example, the head studs are far too small for that high torque engine so I replaced the head studs with larger ones at 90,000 miles and all work was done at the Ford dealership (I have the receipt from Ford).
2. One of the things they did amazing is the brake pads. This truck was built to tow and I have towed everything from boats to horse trailers and there are over 146,000 miles on the truck and I have had them looked at and they have around half of their life left. My friends have had problems with their 2001 to 2004 Ford HD trucks and Excursions brake pads and rotors but I haven't had a problem at all. It's almost like Ford engineers learn from prior models and simply correct it.
3. One thing I failed to mention in the "Condition Description" is that the truck's "check engine" light is on but it is because I installed a EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) delete kit to simply help the engine breathe better. The "check engine" light is on because Ford doesn't like when you change anything with their stock engine. The new seller can simply update the BIOS (available at any parts store or at Ford if you just tell them you need to update the engine computer BIOS because you deleted the EGR out of the engine) and the check engine light will never come on again...unless something is actually malfunctioning in the engine in the future. If you google "EGR delete kit" you will see that Ford only installed the EGR into the engine due to EPA regulations which actually effects the engine performance negatively so I bought a programmer to keep an eye on the performance of the engine (because the 4 stock gaugesdon't give me enough information) but it has never been used to increase horsepower (which it is able to do). I am simply too old for that.
4. The truck received a front end at 4 Wheel Parts which replaced the shocks (I went with Rancho high end gas shocks), lower ball joints, upper control arms (with new bushings and upper joints), sway bar bushings, outer tie rods, and they added a front end stabilizer which helps in adverse conditions (snow, ice, dirt roads, mud)and it definitely helped. I replaced the front end because I have had a few Ford F-250s (1989, 2001, 2003, and 2007) and I know that right around 120,000 miles the truck starts pulling one way and I coincidentally had just bought new tires and had an alignment done and the truck was still pulling to the right so I went ahead and replaced the front end which corrected the problem.
5. Diesel engines do not perform well when they are cold so that isI firmly believe in warming the engine up to 120-140 degrees (which is displayed on my Edge programmer) and that is why the engine runs as well as it does because most diesel owners just start and go and that is why diesels typically leak oil from the seals. I have only broken this one time when my wife went into labor with our first daughter and we had to go! I had my truck looked at by a mechanic to see if there was anything I needed to do before posting and he said it was the cleanest diesel engines he has ever seen with 146,000 miles and the only diesel truck he had ever seen that didn't leak oil from the seals with that kind of mileage. Another example; my father in law owns a 2005 F-350 and it does not start or run as smooth as this truck has only 110,000 miles on his truck and leaks oil in his driveway.
6. If you have ever owned one of these trucks then you know how much power they can use (especially when you first crank it) and there's a reason that they require 2 batteries. For that reason, I have always bought Optima Yellow top batteries. However, if you look at the specifications on Optima batteries versus other brands. You will find out that Optima batteries have gone up in price dramatically over the past 5 years and gone down in overall quality and CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). I started comparing batteries when my Optima Yellow top batteries were beginning to fail right after the warranty expired. And what I discovered is that I had been settling for a overrated battery for years. So, one of the best and most expensive battery manufactorers is Odyssey. Well, Odyssey had a contract to make a Diehard platinum series that is not available anymore because Odyssey did not renew the contract with Sears because Odyssey was losing money because in their contract Sears stated that they had to be made to the same specifications of the Odyssey batteries. I was lucky enough to buy two Diehard batteries with awesome CCAs and overall performance. They weren't cheap but I was looking for a good alternative to Optima.
7. I installed two Alpine 720p screens in the headrests of both front seats which included headphones a few years ago so my 2 girls would be occupied on road trips. Now, in the interest of full disclosure these screens are Alpine screens but they get so outdated so quickly that they are not expensive at all. The passenger one works just fine but the driver's side headrest TV won't turn on. It may be a simple fix but I never ride back there and had medical bills to pay so that screen was one of the things that we did not have time to fix.
8. The truck has a B&W adjustable height rear hitch to accommodateany height and weight of trailer you might pull so the trucks rides level and you have a more comfortable ride. In addition, the hitch is fold-able under (as shown in the picture) to prevent you from walking around the rear of the truck and bumping into it. Which I have done and why i purchased it because it does not feel great.
9. The last thing I need to mention is that I had a Clifford 50.x alarm installed. Not because of the alarm because we all know no one pays attention to alarms going off anymore. I had it installed because the alarm has an app that can start/lock/unlock the truck from anywhere in the US (see the phone picture I have attached)and I have it set at 60 minutes and yes I know that is too long but it is better for an diesel engine to keep running for an hour than to cut off after the Clifford default setting of 12 minutes. For example, my wife and I landed last winter at DFW Airport during a snow/ice storm and I started my truck from the plane and by the time we got to the truck all snow and ice had melted off the windshield and mirrors and it was warm in the truck. This truck at idle goes through only a Liter of diesel (just over .25 of a gallon) per hour so that was money well spent.
It may not sound like it but I believe in keeping a truck as stock as possible and only adding accessories as needed. And I did just that with this truck. The engine needed small adjustments so I did everything i did the right way again because I never intended on selling this truck. I was working as a geologist and kept dodging deer on the dark 2-lane roads in west Texas so I bought the front and rear Ranchhands. The Warn winch...I have no excuse for that purchase. However, I have used it far more than I thought I would pulling friends out of sand and mud and helping strangers out the ditch. I am telling you all of this because the new owner needs to know what work has been done and there is nothing worse than surprises when you go to see a truck. I believe in honesty and integrity and not wasting anyone's time so I hope I have described enough and again if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Couple things I forgot to mention that I would want to know when buying a used truck. I am a non smoker and I have never let anyone smoke in the truck. I barely let people eat or drink in the truck. I know if I were buying a truck from someone I wouldn't necessarily want their key fob, so I am including a new key fob that will lock/unlock/remote start the truck and it has a 4th button on the front that is designed for a trunk release but can be programmed for anything such and roll up or down the windows or open the rear sliding window. Anything really, as long as it is power operated. As far as payment for the truck, I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours after auction/best offer/buy it now closes. Buyer is responsiblefor picking the truck up in person preferably with a cashier's check or if buyer decides to ship the truck buyer is responsiblefor arranging that and payment needs to be paid and cleared beforehand. I'm sure you understand. That way this transaction goes smoothly for both buyer and seller because I have had a few bad experiences with smaller ticket purchases as I'm sure you have too. So, to insure that this transaction goes smoothly for buyer and myself (seller), serious inquires/bids only and contact me if you have 0 feedback before you bid. We have all had 0 feedback at some point so just send me an email before you bid so we're on the same page and so I know you are a serious buyer. I want to be clear about the price I'm willing to accept. I am fully aware of Kelley Blue Book's value that they have assigned to this truck. However, while I am a little flexible as far as price I will accept, because true market value supports the price I am asking due to you can't find an older truck in this good of condition. I am reasonable and I know that this truck needs new tires soon (within 10k miles) so I will take that into consideration but I am testing the market to see if anyone is interested. Again, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
I got a few emails asking for interior pictures and it was dark last night (thanks time change) but I have posted the maximum amount of pictures eBaywill apparentlyallow (24) so I will take pictures and email anyone if you have a specific request. One last thing..I got an email asking if my phone was included in the listing. And I'm sorry to say that it is not, I will simply showing the app that you are able to download to control the truck with that specific app. I didn't exactly know how to respond so yeah I hope that clears up any confusion you probably didn't have.
10. The carpet is in perfect condition (as you can see in the picture of the divider between the 2 front seats) because I have always had Husky Liners down since 2007 because i can simply wash out any mud or dirt or spills that have happened instead of staining the carpet. The Husky Liners have done their job but they don't fit quite as snug as the new laser designed ones you can buy now that weren't available in 2007.
