1996 Ford F150 5.8L 351W Extended Cab 8' Box 2 Wheel Drive
1996 Ford F-150 XLT Description
You are bidding on a 1996 Ford F150 Extended Cab with an 8' box, the 5.8 liter 351 Windsor V8 engine, and 2 wheel drive. It has 177k miles on it and these trucks are good for twice that amount or more. It's in better condition than most 20 year old trucks. There was some rust above the rear wheel arches and at the bottoms of the extension on the cab. That was all. You can see those in the photos. I used some JB Weld, which is much better than Bondo. It could use a small additional amount. I had intended on finishing 100%, but I am in the middle of restoring a car that my wife and I are very sentimental about and I am just too busy. That's also the reason for selling this truck. We want to concentrate on the car. I am including 2 two-ounce bottles of the Portofino Blue paint. I have only used a small amount out of one of them.
The truck has a new MSD distributor cap and rotor, new Duralast Gold spark plug wires, and new Motorcraft platinum spark plugs. It has a new Motorcraft fuel filter and a new K & N air filter. It has a fairly recent Die-Hard Gold battery. It starts easy and runs very well. It does not leak any fluids or burn any oil or coolant. The transmission shifts smoothly. It needs the brake rotors turned and could use shocks in the near future, but everything else is fine. Tires are brand-new Bridgestone all-season with an excellent tread pattern for traction and they are rated for heavier loads than average. There is a ball for towing and a connector for trailer wiring.
The bed is freshly painted and there was never even any small dents in it. It is like new. The cap on the back is an older Century brand manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana, and is a bit faded from age but is otherwise in very good condition. Could use some screen for the sliding windows if you choose. The lock for the cap is brand-new and comes with 2 keys. It did not come with a high-mount brake light, so I installed one myself. It's a Ford light and I wired it so that the integrated cargo lights work as well. They even light up the inside of the back end of the box, which is very handy at night. The doors and tailgate were replaced and they are 100% rust-free. The doors have manual crank windows, which are much more convenient. You don't need a key and electricity to put a window up or down and there are no motors to fail and cost a lot to replace. The doors could either be painted to match, or they would make an excellent background for business advertising. The interior is very clean and there is an aftermarket Pioneer stereo system installed.
Considering the truck's size and longer wheelbase, it nevertheless handles very well and you don't notice that much difference from a regular cab with an 8' box.
I believe that I have covered everything, but feel free to ask questions.
*** Payment will need to be cash in person, U.S. postal money orders, or a good cashier's check with buyer and seller agreeing to split the amount that check cashing facilities charge.
I will store the truck here free of charge after it is paid for, if necessary, for a reasonable amount of time. I am able to be here any day / any time to assist with a shipper, etc.
Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
