1999 Ford Escort ZX2 Description

Our family decided to downsize this summer and there is no room for toys anymore. This car has no rust and most likely has never seen salt. It has many upgrades along with the aftermarket inter-cooled turbo charging system which were installed about 7K miles ago. The ZETEC motor was completely rebuilt with forged internals (Receipt says $4900). The Mitsubishi TE04H tubro was added with inter-cooler and pillar mounted turbo boost gauge. It has a SCT tuner with custom turbo tune. The tune has an emissions delete because this car currently has no catalytic converter. The car is in good working order with no check engine codes. It was fitted with a racing clutch. It has custom exhaust from the turbo back with a can muffler. It has racing struts and 16" alloy wheels with low profile tires. A power lock system was added with power trunk release along with an alarm with 2 factory looking key fobs. An after-market stereo was installed with trunk sub-woofer. The newer battery is in the trunk also to make room for the turbo under the hood. Racing seats and pedals were added. The engine compartment has a after market cross brace and the engine has a torque chain connected to it. I have only had this awesome car for just over a year and would gladly keep it if I had the room. Since buying it, I have fixed the air conditioning (minor leak), put all new brake pads and rotors on, replaced the engine mounts with OEM Ford units and added urethane inserts so they won't wear out again, and fixed various vacuum leaks. The motor does smoke a little during heavy boost and the PCV system could use some help. It is currently vented to atmosphere. It should really be connected to a oil catch breather. The valve cover breather should also be piped into an oil catch type breather as well. These would have been next on my list along with new tires, which it really needs. This cars drives great and is extremely fast. There is an adjustable turbo boost valve to set to your liking. I have it set around 15 PSI, but it will boost up to 26 PSI. The guy who owned it before me said it dyno'd out at 270 HP at max. boost. There are also many extra parts and records. There is an extra 150 MPH gauge cluster, computers, throttle body, MAF sensor, and many of the original engine parts that were replaced during the rebuild. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
