2001 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor Former Florida Sheriff's Car. There's a lot of info here, so be sure to read it all. If you have questions after reading everything here, please contact me through eBay's email system.
Since this is a former police car, it has some holes or extra screws or clips on the interior – primarily the dash area. The steering wheel is also kind of rough. I don't mind it, but you might want to add a steering wheel cover. Some police cars don't have the ability for the passengers to unlock the back seat doors. This car is not one of those. This was a supervisor's car – the back can be locked and unlocked from inside the car. As a police fleet vehicle, it was well-maintained.
The car has 147,000+ miles. I've had it for 8 ½ years. It had 109K miles when I bought it and I have only driven it 38,000 miles in that time period, so an average of 4500 miles per year – like a little old lady car. Most recently (this August and September), I drove it on a few 500-600 mile trips with no issues.
I've had issues off and on with the front windows going up and down for the past few years. Sometimes they work (usually in colder weather it seems), other times they don't. Last I checked, neither of the front windows work but both of the back windows work. All of the windows are well-tinted. I did price a new window motor for driver side and it would be about $100.
Within the past year or two, I've replaced the battery and alternator. There's a spare belt because I forgot to return it when we didn't need to change it. The tires are Goodyear and are in good shape. The spare tire is in brand new condition – it's a full size spare tire on a regular rim. The hubcaps are Ford hubcaps, one of which is fairly new. I also had the water pump replaced this year.
A few years ago, I had a whole lot of work done on the A/C. Replaced a lot of parts. It has worked quite well since.
Replaced the oil pressure sensor thingie this year because it was leaking according to my oil change guys. Well, the new sensor I got is faulty but there's no more oil leak. Since I like to get the oil changed regularly, I didn't bother to get the sensor changed again. (The car is currently due for an oil change.) I actually have a new set of oil lines for the car because I thought we would have to change them too, but since there is no oil leak, the parts are in the trunk (including another new sensor).
The nice cloth interior is in very good used condition. Since I used this car for everything, including hauling bags of leaves or grass clippings for my compost piles, lumber, and sometimes even hay, I kept the seats covered for the most part. I don't believe there are any rips or tears at all. Could probably use a shampoo, but I think it looks fine.
I love this car and I'm only selling it because I wanted a newer vehicle. I thought about keeping this for my yearly trips to Ohio (it's soooo comfortable), but I really can't afford to keep two cars.
This is a big car. With a big engine. And really nice suspension (so much smoother than the car I'm driving now). It's been a great car for me and hopefully, it will be for you as well. Thanks for looking.
