1964 Ford Falcon Futura Description

For sale, is our 1964 Falcon Futura. This car is amazing and they're getting harder to find. For starters, it's original, perserved, and has been mostly garaged - it hasn't been hacked up, built from Chinese reproduction parts, or covered with 12 inches of bondo. It was originally sold at Tiffany Ford of Hollister, California and since then, it found itself up in South San Francisco and then to us. Overall, I've left it for the most part original, only changing those parts that would keep it from being a reliable, daily driver. This car would be perfect for someone getting into vintage cars and learning the basics of an engine.
- Clean title on hand, registered till Mar 2017

- Original California Black Plates, not crappy reproduction ones.
- 2-door coupe
- RWD (rear-wheel drive),
- Cruise-o-matic transmission (Automatic)
- 6 cylinder engine
- 4 wheel manual drum brakes
- Manual steering (not power)
- Bench seat
- Original mint interior and body
- Original/mint trunk paint, spare tire/jack, and liner
- Super straight body, except for 1 real ding on the driver door (not too noticeable)- Minimal surface rust
- Recent oil and spark plug change (less than 50 miles on it)
- The engine and transmission do not leak
Modifications/Improvements:
- Reproduction Scott Drake rear seat belts (matching blue)
- Sweet, custom Falcon floor mats made from reproduction carpet (not crappy new style carpet)
- Modern/reproduction Retro Sound stereo (looks exactly like the original, which we still have) and has an auxiliary cord hook up
- Brand new dual bowl master cylinder conversion (not original, but way safer for a daily driver)
- Brand new brake light switch
- New filler neck hose
- New starter (less than 150 miles)
- Rebuilt carburetor
- Upgraded to alternator instead of original generator (in case you don't know, generators pretty much suck and doesn't push out that much energy for a daily driver)
- Upgraded the 12 volt regulator to a solid state one-wire system that's hidden behind the alternator. I left the original one in place for looks, but it's been bypassed (also way better for reliability)
- Upgraded to points-less electronic ignition (points suck, this is way more reliable as a driver, and you barely notice it's under the hood)
Needs:
- The gas gauge works, but the sending unit (thing that sends signal to gauge) is bad. It's cheap $35.00 - $60.00. If you're wondering why I didn't fix it, it's because the gauge works good enough for me not to care.
- It could use some new shocks and leaf springs. The ones on it work fine, but they're a little boat because of a age - owners preference, I'd change them though.
