1949 Ford Other Description

I'm selling my 1949 FORD custom coupe. I've owned the car for about 6yrs and bought it a month after it went through a nut and bolt restoration. I've included the original note from the builder and you can see a detailed description below. The car was amazing as is but the bags were a little ruff at highway speeds and wanted to complete the ride with upgraded Acu-air suspension along with converting the car to power steering. I spent $20k less then 2yrs ago getting that done, the current ride is flawless and really brings the whole thing together.
I don't need to sell the car but have my eye on a few new projects and after 6yrs I think its time to pass it on to the next person to enjoy.
DETAILS:
Suspension-
Less than 2yrs ago I spent $20k on the best (acu-air-ride with pre-built Fatman's frame stub) money can buy along with converting the car to power steering. All work was done at Wheelers Speed Shop in HB, California. The car rides like a dream. I have all the paperwork/receipts for the work (itemized invoice comes with the car).

Body-

Taken to bare metal, Gloss 2 stage black pain, Nosed, Decked, shaved door handles with door popper, 1953 Chevy grill with seven teet, molded rocker panels, fenders frenched front and back. It is very custom but simple it almost looks factory. Rear fenders tubs, mustang gas tank and all sheet metal in trunk has been custom built with access cover to reach the rear end and bags. Floor has been tunneled to clear drive shaft. All stainless around windows and wing windows have been powder coated. All glass is new except the rear. Every piece of weather stripping rubber and felt is new.The dash, window surrounds has been powder coated. I have had thousands of dollars of powder coating done. If it unbolts and is black its probably blasted and powder coated.

Chassis-

Ford 8 inch rear end with 373 gears, front and rear disk brakes, powder coated and drilled front and rear rotors with metric calipers, all new 3/16 hard brake line and steel braded brake hoses. Willwood master cylinder and willwood portioning valve mounted through floor for access and clearance. Jamco a arm mounts and mater cylinder bracket ki, 1949 ford wheels that were blasted and powder coated with 1951 Ford hubcaps. Silver town white walls with less that 200 miles on them.

Engine/trans -

Ford 5.0l engine and Aod transmission with gennie shifter and lokar tv cabl, edelbrock intake, carb, water pump, valve covers, Mallory dist with pertronix conversion, msd wires. Mallory fuel pressure gauge andholly pressure regulator.Rear sump oil pan, engine and trans have been painted metallic gold to match and everything is powder coated black with polished fins. Trans has large sumpfinned sump pan and is running b&m trick shift fluid. Runs great starts right up and cruises down the highway. The AOD trans is great with the 373 gears. ¼ throttle for highway speeds around 70 mph.

Interior-

1965 ford thunderbird seats, I kept the interior simple and all black to match the clean stock yet custom look. White pref. headliner to brake the car up a bit. Fells like you’re sitting in a brand new car. Ez wiring 21 circuit mini fuse kit. The heater has a new core and new heater valve.

From the Builder when I bought it 6yrs ago.

I spent over two years building the car and I lost track of how much money I spent and thousands of 12-14 hour days working on the car. I just got the car finished three weeks age and it took best custom the first time out to a show with a thousand cars. The car is very nice but It is not a perfect 100 point car. I say that because I built the car and can see every flaw. It is not a 100,000 dollarsema car but you can still park in between two of 100,000 cars and it wouldn’t look out of place.

The car is not flawless and price will reflectthat. It has acouple orange peel spots andthe doorstrikers could be replaced (getsticky) but honestly besides that there is not athing I would personally change or address. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
