Ford F-350 box truck, 12-foot cargo length, former U-Haul

1997 Ford F-350 Description

This is a former U-Haul Ford box truck, with plenty of miles on it, but in generally solid functional condition. The box is about 12 feet long by 8 feet wide, with an additional 2-foot shelf area over the cab. It is an automatic with an AM/FM radio and a minor tear in the upholstery on the driver's side of the bench seat. It has an extending ramp at the back in the usual manner of rental moving trucks.
Last fall I was asked by my wife to move a storage unit full of stuff in California to the state where we now live, New York. Since I was in the mood to save some money and to go on a good road trip, I bought this truck from a private party who had bought it from UHaul. I paid Jiffy Lube more than I should have to replace all the fluids. They said (no surprise) that it leaked fluids, but that as long as I checked the levels it should be okay. I registered and insured the truck and loaded it with a whole lot of furniture and books and hit the road.
The truck performed like a champ. I had to top up the oil once or twice.
Since arriving in the beautiful Hudson Valley late last year, the F350 has sat quietly in a self-storage facility. I haven't found the time to sell it till now. The insurance has now lapsed, and I filed a California "certificate of non-operation" when the registration expired. But I have a clean title, and it should pose no challenges in terms of paperwork.
