1970 Ford Mustang Q Code Description

Hello!

Have money but can’t accept .19% in bank accounts as “investing”?

Watch Barrett Jackson, Mecum and think I CAN’T buy like that and be protected.

Know that Haggerty “market trends” track Muscle Cars like the Dow Jones BUT you don’t own one today?

Well this is a unique opportunity to insure your money is in a blue chip investment Muscle Car!

  • One that wasn’t cobbled together last month for this month’s auction
.
    • One that over 30% of the price ISN’T going to a dealer commissions or “profit for the flipper"

    • One that you won’t have to spend an additional amount of money to “put right"

Most ad's show only the car today, glamor shots and NEVER take the time to point out what was done during the "restoration" ! (let alone not done) LOL

The following documents the extent this car went through over a 7 year restoration and I hope you peruse the photos to understand and interest you more. Please take the time to follow the restoration timeline of over 7 years as I have tried to select BEFORE and AFTER PHOTOS of the same area/component to tell the story. As stated OF05Q140955 has always been a desert car, not a car that spent some time in the desert but a car that survived always in Phoenix.

This insured that every piece of sheetmetal is original to this car, the exhaust is the ORIGINAL 1970 Ford syste, down to the clamps and hangers. Every piece of rubber was replaced, every bearing and seal replaced every component rebuilt to retain date code stampings. Car was built to Marti report options USING the Ford components -VERY LIMITED USE of repro parts. Car is on new BF Goodrich TA radials, car was aligned. Driven over 2600 miles since completion (NOS York A/C compressor last item added)
This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was found completely intact in Phoenix AZ as show here in 2006

Having a car with EVERYTHING intact insured a true numbers matching, date coded, correct build.
EVERY PIECE of the body stampings are the date coded original Ford “production line” stampings to this car! Not NOS service, not repro not even USED and needed due to damage. It is these things that make an INVESTMENT secure in comparison to the “rest of the offerings” for sale. This also insures that the substructures are unmolested, FACTORY seam-sealed and retain the correct spray patterns for (Mach 1) sound deadening and factory black out areas. (see below) Floor Quarter Trunk

Owner restored this wasn’t his first attempt at a concourse restoration – RATHER the 5th of the same 69/70 body style! (You should read that as “he wasn’t working a Camaro the day before”) Every piece was rebuilt, replaced with new parts to insure worried free driving and GOLD LEVEL judging. IF you have ever been through MCA Judging you will know the attention to detail this takes to insure such results.

    VIN stamped beforeAfter complete rebuild

Original Date Coded Nodular Center Section Note: Pinon Supports were machined after painting - face should be natural (but will rust)Engine Disassembly Body Received the same attention to detail in prep and finish Buying OR selling a car is an emotional event that when all goes well “everyone is proud of the effort”.My words are not to weed out the squirrels that can’t buy a car like this – rather find the right person because IF YOU ARE THAT PERSON I will make every attempt to insure you are satisfied with the experience. THIS from a guy that isn’t a dealer! I have other cars – you never know what a new relationship will bring in life. I can’t afford to miss opportunities for future buys or sales – you may not want to miss obtaining this car and joining a selected few that can say they own such a car . I don’t know who the buyer will be, it could be a man that is “buying back his youth” or a woman that is giving her husband a gift he could have never built himself.
