The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this stunning low mileage Saleen “Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang” The car has only 5400 miles and is in showroom condition both inside and out. These cars are made in very limited numbers, and carries its own Saleen vin number. This car is Number 245 of only 500 produced, has a Saleen modified 302ci V8 engine making 400 hp fed through a 5-speed transmission. Saleen modifications include forged pistons, rods, crankshaft, lightweight aluminum flywheel and high-performance exhaust. The aluminum cylinder heads are ported and fitted with higher performance camshafts, better valve springs, retainers, and such. The motor additionally benefits from underdrive pulleys, a larger 2 1/2-inch stainless steel exhaust system, 24-lb/hr injectors, a 98mm mass airflow meter, and a more functional version of the late Mach 1 Shaker hood scoop.The Parnelli Jones touches extend to the exterior, featuring painted Grabber Orange with black trim and limited edition graphics throughout the body; the working black Shaker hood is featured prominently. Additionally the suspension and underpinnings are modified by Saleen, and feature a Racecraft suspension, with watts-link, High rate coil over springs, shocks, sway bars, Saleen 14" brakes and Pirelli tires. The car is signed on the dash by both Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones and signed by Jones, once again, on the passenger front shock tower. Mechanically, the PJ, as the Saleen/Parnelli Jones is known, is a well-developed and sorted package.
The interior features numerous special Parnelli Jones (PJ) inspired bits, including, but not limited to; PJ Bucket seats, a 200 mph speedometer, PJ short shifter, PJ shift knob, PJ floor matts, racing pedals, PJ plaques and badging. The hood has a functional “Shaker Hood” and working hood pins. The Parnelli Jones addition was built as an homage to the SCCA Championship winning Mustangs driven by Jones in the Trans-am series of the early 1970’s. The car hits the mark in spectacular fashion, and draws a crowd where it goes.
