1950 Ford Other Description

1950 Ford Custom Coupe, done up in traditional hot rod fashion complete with fuzzy dice & hula-girl.

The car had a complete frame off, nut & bolt restoration, 25 years ago. It has since been pampered and garage kept, with a little bit of joy riding each year. The body & paint looks straight & clean, but upon close inspection you will find minor imperfections, blemishes and touch ups. Mostly just typical road rash. Little stuff that a perfectionist would nit-pick, but if you just want a fun driver with out spending the big bucks, then this car is for you.

There is not any visible rust anywhere that I can see on the car. Including the underside, floor pans, trunk pan, etc...

The engine & transmission. It has afresh 1953 Mercury 255 Flathead, board .30 over, balanced & blue printed, mild Isky Cam w/ adjustable lifters. Offenhauser aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake & 390 Holley 4bbl. With less than 9,000 miles on the motor since rebuild 2 years ago. The transmission is the stock 3 on the tree w/ no over drive. The clutch doesn't shutter when you take off. It shifts smoothly through all the gears like it should.

The interior - looks flawless. All of the gauges work, as well as the dome lights. There's a modern stereo hidden in the glove box. The original radio is not hooked up. I really can't think of a single thing wrong with the interior, except that there is a squeak in the dash. When you're driving, if it starts to squeaking, you just barely touch the bottom side of the radio & the squeak stops. So I've located the source of the squeak, but haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.

The Tires, brakes, suspension & steering. The car drives straight & true with no bounce, sway or unusual oddities. The brakes are good & adjusted evenly, so when you stop it doesn't pull to one side or the other. The tires are new Coker white wall radials, including a matching spare. They have about 1,500 miles on them.

Overall this is a great cruiser. It's been very reliable. It's a great looking car, that's fun to drive & turns lots of heads.
