1995 Ford Club Wagan XLT Wheelchair Van
1995 Ford Other XLT Description
THE VAN:
This began as a standard length 1/2 ton with small V8 (5.0 liter/302) with automatic and overdrive. It is an XLT, and as such it has a long list of comfort, convenience and appearance features such as: power windows, locks and mirrors, intermittent wipers, tilt wheel, cruise control, chrome bumpers, upgraded stereo, tinted windows, adjustable bucket seats with dual armrests...and more.
GOODIES:
As you see in the photos, this has two-tone paint with special striping. It was originally solid white and the lower accent color of metallic blue and the custom striping was added when I owned this van two years ago. The original owner added the fancy wheels a few years ago. This van also has a custom high-capacity rear ventilation system which is designed to ventilate into the middle area of the van and very low in height (see photo) for direct benefit of person in wheelchair. And there is a commercial/medical-grade, high-capacity power supply mounted under the driver's seat, which can be used to power a substantial piece of equipment such as an oxygen system, high-amp wheelchair charger, or other 12-volt items as desired. And finally, there is a very nice high-performance CD stereo system that was added a few years ago by the original owner
MOBILITY:
Has a very unique style of lift, invented and built exclusively by the industry leader "Braun". This is called a "Swing-A-Way". Notice in the photos several uniquely helpful features, unlike any other lift: parallel-loading design requires minimal clearance at side of van due to there being no need for perpendicular approach and due to the fact that the lift extends less than 3 feet from side of van; has an 800 pound capacity, which equals much larger lifts, yet is compact in design; unusual platform is compact when stowed, due to a space-saving extendable design; this lift does not make the van lean or rock when loading nearly as much as the traditional lifts, due to its design keeping the loaded weight much closer to the van
* Has a lowered floor in the middle portion of the van. This not only creates extra headroom once inside the van, it improves the entry clearance very much also.
* See in the photos the extension to the tops of the entry doors and the corresponding roof modification. These two features combined adds about 10 inches to the entry clearance, making the clearance (the lowest point when entering) similar to a van with tall roof and fairly tall customized doors at apx 56 inches inches. Wow, this is a super fact !
