2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Description

This is a nice truck. My daughter drove this to University and is very safe! Mechanically everything functions well and it gets about 23 to 25 mpg. I did notice the check engine light on once but it has sense been off. My daughter put on slightly loud exhaust and I preferit quiet. I have used this to tow my canoe and Kayak trailer and has no issues. It seats five comfortably. I would replace: the muffler(more quiet), the step bars on the side are rusty, the seats are worn in front, and the rear windowbetween the cab and truck bed does go down slowly it sells for $30 on Amazon. front door mechanism were tough working and replaced. New alternator. Tires have less than 2k on them. Air condenseris new and works very well! The alternator is new as well. 4x4 functions perfectly as does the engine and transmission. I would trust this truck to go 300 miles without any worry. The oil was changed every 3k and has fresh fuel and air filters. I kept up to date on all maintenanceand had Palmer's Auto in La Harpe Illinois do all the work. My daughter is expecting her first child and wants a different vehicle.
