1997 Ford E-Series Van Description

very rusty- very trusty- work van- starts with a turn of the key-formally owned by local school district- new brake lines alternato, battery within last year. regular oil changes, under 126,000 original mile, heavy duty vortex v - 8 engine automatic transmissio, heavy duty rear end ( 8 lug front and back ) working cold air conditioning- NO known mechanical problems- I would not hesitate to drive this van cross country on moments notice, All of the glass is good with no cracks or known stone chips, wipers and washers work, all lights work, good tread on all tires commercial grade bf Goodrich all matching, working am fm radioNOW THE BAD the body is very rusted- the passenger side was side swiped and is heavily creased- the drivers door does not close ( when I drive I use a bungy cord to keep the door closed) the locks do not work in the drivers, passenger and side cargo doors- the back door lock works- my guess is some kid stuck something in the locks as keys will not go in fully, the rocker panels are rusted out, the wheel wells are rusted out, the lock to the inside cage is broken ( the door to the cab ) comes with one shelving unit directly behind driver seat - no spare but do have jack and handle, rubber floor, drivers seat torn. the brakes are a little softer then I care for and may not have been bled properly but still stop van without any problems, the exhaust is pieced together and should be replaced from the y pipe back but it is quiet enough to be legal, last photo shows dash with mileage and all guages working, that is all I can think of good or bad- van is located in south central Michigan near where ohio Indiana and Michigan come together. if you have a f-15, bronco or just high mileage van project why go to the junk yard and spend $800 or more for something that may be in just as bad a shape as what you have. You can hear this engine run and even drive it home and make some of your money back parting out the body and tires- 16 inch used commercial tires are in high demand ! call a couple of junk yards or used tire places 4 matching 16's will cost you $200 at least I know nothing about shipping a vehicle so local pick up only unless all arrangements are made by the buyer
