2008 Ford F-350 Description

You are bidding on a beautiful ginormous Blue F350 King Ranch Crew Cab Long Bed Dually Truck. This thing is absolutely loaded with options. I believe it has everything you could get standard w/exception of 4WD. It pains me greatly to sell this thing, and I have put this day off accordingly. Unfortunately, it isn’t because I am going to miss driving it… I have been living with that for several years. This has been a complete nightmare. I had spent months looking for the ‘perfect truck’ in a low price range, but I stumbled across this one, and after one drive, I couldn’t help it but to fall in love with it. These trucks have the nicest interior you can get for a truck - bar none. Has almost as much room as a minivan, and covered with rugged and beautiful brown saddle leather interior. When this thing was running, it was a beast. It would cruise down the interstate comfortably as fast as you cared to go, and it could haul anything you hooked up to it. It has a quick-release gooseneck hitch built right into the floor of the bed of it, and Reese hitch for hauling normal trailers. 5 of the tires are in great condition and are barely worn - one is flat.
The bad news is that shortly after I bought the truck the trouble began. The first snow of the season had me sideswiping a huge boulder that was on the edge of a driveway - never did fix the broken fender flare or bottom of the running boards (see picture). Aside from the 20k I paid for this thing, I have spent ~$10K in fixing things with it. It had some major valve work done, a couple injectors replaced, the high pressure fuel pump replaced (TWICE), and various other oddball things that are apparently common w/these 6.4 motors if you don’t remove the emissions junk from them. All this happened when we lived in Ohio. I was afraid to drive the thing, so it got parked and sat in the driveway. About 9 months after we moved to Illinois, we finally sold our house and I drove it back with no issues, and parked it again while I procrastinated selling it. I had a wild idea that I could make a trip to Menards to get some lumber one day… low and behold as I was driving down the driveway the OIL light came on. I backed it up and parked it yet again. The thing was not making any strange noise whatsoever, and it still showed turbo pressure, but I wasn’t about to get stranded in it, so I turned it off and let it sit. Every other thing on the truck was in perfect working order at this time (lights, doors, transmission, AC, gages, satellite radio, windows, etc, etc.).
When I finally got the nerve to have it looked at (a year later), I had it towed to the local Ford dealer. The stealership told me it needed a new motor (to the tune of ~$10K). It sat there for 9 months or so before I ultimately had it towed back here, where it sits to this day. Shortly after I got it back, I was going to pull it more out of the way, and I found that the steering was not working at all. Not sure what the deal w/that is, but I suspect they didn’t hook the linkage back up to it, else somebody robbed a part off of it or something as it was fine when I had it towed there in the first place.
I have only put about 5000 miles on this truck in the 5 or so years since I owned it. It has taken me a long time to get to the point where I can walk away from this thing. Several folks have tried to buy it off of me, but I really just couldn’t let it go. I had a pipedream about doing a cummins swap on this some day, but I know that is never going to happen, so it is time to let it go to someone else to rebuild, part out, or whatever. I have an old beater truck I am content with (and that gives me no problems). I am done dumping any money into a fancy expensive truck.
What I am asking for this truck is the least I am going to take for it. As far as I know it needs a new engine, and it does have the cosmetic (broken fiberglass) issue, but other than that it is still a gorgeous truck and the interior looks phenomenal. If you can find a better one or a cheaper one, or certainly if you can find a better cheaper one, then by all means go buy the thing. I am not going to stop the auction or change my starting bid because someone ‘really wants it’. This is a simple ‘no reserve’ auction. I am starting the bid at the least I am willing to sell it for, and if you want it, you bid on it… the highest bidder at the time the auction closes it will be the winner.
