1970 Ford Mustang Description

1970 Mustang with High Performance 289 and automatic. California car, appears to be very free of rust. $9,000 invested by previous owner. Never drivenin Minnesota. Very solid body and previous owner stated that "the engine and transmission were both rebuilt, only the body work is left." There is an old California registration in the car from 1996 and it showssalvaged in prior history. I don't see any damage that would make me think it was in an accident but you should look for yourself. currently has a clean Minnesota title and current plates. Owner stated that it just needs agas tank to run. I have not heard it run. Front fenders are just set in place for pictures. All glass appears to be good. Interior appears to be good except for a tear in the passenger's seat bottom. All parts I know of are shown in the pictures. Instrument cluster shows 10,000 + miles which is obviously not correct. Mileage is unknown. This would be a great body shop class project or a father son (mother / daughter) project. It is very difficult to find a mustang this solid. It is not running due to gas tank. Has power steering and power brakes. Tires and wheels appear to be new. Missing dash pad, rear bumper, and a few other small items. Grille is broken.

12/19/16 I took more pictures of the motor but have not been able to post them. Carb is Edelbrock 4 barrel and headers are Hooker competition. I was told it was a high performance 289 and I am not familiar enough to know what that means. Judge for yourself whether that is a correct designation.I took the front fenders off and the frontstructure looks excellent on both sides but undercoat may hide minordefects. Again pictures are available. I took a magnet to the body and it stuck absolutely everywhere. There appears to be a very, verythin coating of filler putty on the quarters and roof with solid metal right behind. Magnet made a metal to metal sound everywhere I placed it. You are welcome to come take a look but I think someone will get a great project car with a very low reserve. Parts alone are worth a lot more than the reserve on the whole car.
