For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very clean 1985 Ford Mustang "Fox Body" GT. Now you are going to have to search high and low to find a fox body of this vintage that is as clean and original while still providing all of the performance goodies that you would expect out of one of these. The exterior is finished in the original Jalapena Red paint that still shines as though it was on the showroom floor. From top to bottom this car has been meticulously maintained and always garaged kept and babied along the road. The interior of this car is also original as are the 50,182 miles appearing on the odometer. The seats, door panels, arm rests, carpeting and dash all look as though they were in a car that was a year old instead of one about to celebrate it's 32nd birthday. To keep track of your performance on the strip or street you have the factory gauge cluster still in place but additional A-Pillar mounted Auto gage water temperature and oil pressure gauges as well as a tachometer have been added. The MSD ignition system is supported by a Launch Control box mounted under the dash right in front of that handsome Hurst cue-ball shifter. To touch on a bit of the performance of this Mustang we can start with the original 5.0 Liter V8 under the hood that features a complete rebuild including Edelbrock aluminum heads, chrome headers and aluminum Ford valve covers. The fire for the classic 5.0 is delivered through a full MSD ignition system and is fed through a Holley 4 barrel carburetor connected to an Edelbrock Airgap aluminum intake and features a K&N air cleaner, drive pulley kit and breathes through a Flowmaster dual exhaust. To keep this baby cool an aluminum radiator with electric fans have been updated from the original. All of that power is fed through a Tremec 5-Speed transmission going back to a 4:30 Posi rear end and features a Lakewood driveshaft loop. The suspension is a tubular A-Frame with Eibach drag springs, Strange shocks, Competition Engineering sub-frame connectors, CHE adjustable rear suspension, new shocks and newer rack and pinion steering. All performance upgrades were completed at the end of 2011 and the car has been used sparingly since only driving to shows. This is a well done build on a very solid original car that is becoming scarce to find in this condition.
