Excursion 6.0l 4x4 Ford Factory SERVICE Package(MPV FIRE) (Built in Generator)
2003 Ford Excursion MPV Description
Please feel free to make a offer if you plan to honor the offer price. After the truck is payed for the buyer can take as much time as needed to pick it up or find a transport company.
This truck is not in running condition. It has a 6.0l Power Stroke diesel with auto trans. I never put power to the truck so I never read the mileage off of the cluster. The front of the title shows no mileage and exempt is written where the mileage would be. The last carfax report was 11/27/2007 showing the mileage at 92k. The rear of the title is hand written at 183k in the odometer section.
If you message me with your email I can send you you a pdf copy of the service records that I found on Carfax up until 92k.
I pulled the water proof covers that were on the front seats since the truck was put into service. The lower half (seat cushion) of the drivers could use a good vacuum but besides that they are in great shape. They are also fully powered seats. I also included the area with the removed item that was unplugged from under the steering column.
The undercarriage of this truck is in great condition and still shows the factory stickers on some undercarriage parts and the frame. Looking at the undercarriage you would think the truck is only a year or two old with less then 40k it is very clean. The fire chief must always have the truck washed every time they returns. It would be the only way to explain how the truck is rust free and still retains the original undercarriage paint.
The truck was setup by ford with the fire /ambulance package. Please research this package to get a better understanding of the upgrades done that are not found on a civilian excursion. It appears to have a very nice upgraded electrical system that I believe the alternator is able to output very high current. The I believe it runs a 200amp alternator and there is another alternator the outputs 120v AC that is run to a small panel and out to a watertight household plug. It also has spark surge protection and other electrical upgrades that are found on first responder service vehicles. I looked up the alternator electrical package and it was over $800 just for the generator / alternator. This would be a great add on if pulling a motorsports trailer of for camping as it could replace having to carry a separate generator.
The rear cargo area still has the aluminum pull out storage tray with partial rear cage. It is also was setup for dual batteries but the batteries were removed and new ones will be needed.
This is the perfect truck for a restore. Or just get it running and drive it.
I am not sure why it was taken out of service. The intake tube that was connected to the turbo from the air filter was left loose by the previous mechanic. It appears as if the state / city mechanic removed it and placed it back on without securing it. I did notice that the impeller has more play then it should and perhaps this in addition to the fleet being updated with new trucks is the reason for retiring the vehicle. One of the good things about all city / state vehicles is the maintenance. They do it based on a schedule and replace parts with OEM. It appears the sway-bar links, brakes, and some other wear items were recently replaced during the routine maintenance because the Motor Craft stickers are still on the parts. I have not tested to engine in any way. If I founf a issue I would list it.
The low price is because if there is a worst case and the engine needs a overhaul then the price reflects the work needed. If the buyer gets it running with minimal work then it would work out to be a great deal. I do not like when I have been mislead and I would not do that even if it means selling at a lower price.
If there is a test I could maybe run please let me know and if I am able to I would be more then happy.
They truck was red and instead of removing the stickers the state painted over them with black paint. The radio was removed. There appears to be a item that was disconnected from the electrical harness panel below the steering column. Many of the electrical and other miscellaneous parts that were removed are in the truck. I will try to get a picture of the parts that are in the truck so you can get a better idea of what may be needed.
Thank You, please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. I purchased the truck with the intent of keeping it but I am unable to repair it due to a recent injury.
I can help load the truck using my tractor and winch setup if needed.
Buyer is responsible for the research and hiring of a transport company to haul the truck. Clean title in hand. This is a link of what it was like when it was in service.
