1996 Ford F-150 XL Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door Description

As shown, my 1996 Ford F-150 XL truck with 5-speed manual transmission and straight inline 6-cylinder engine. I am the third owner. The prior owner bought it in about 2000 and meticulously maintained it ever since.

This is what you might refer to as a “Sally Rand” in that it had very few options when it was originally purchased. It has manual windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, and no cruise control. That said, everything else works very well. The A/C blows cold and has a cut-off switch installed by the previous owner. I think he installed that to keep the A/C from coming on when the Bi-Level setting is on in the winter.

The clutch was just replaced (all components as well as the rear main oil seal) so there is literally nothing it will need apart from oil changes for the next 10,000 miles or more. There are some spare parts (front brake pads, etc.) that will be included. The only thing that might need to be fixed is the rear tank pump doesn’t seem to work, but I don’t see the need to carry 30+ gallons of fuel around where I live. It’s up to you if you want to fix that. Both tanks have locking gas caps with a matching key, so you only need one. I changed the oil and air filter at 75,000 miles.

The previous owner also installed numerous accessories, including the steps and flood lights, rear flood lights that come on when reverse is engaged, deer whistles, tow package and tow hitch (I didn’t get the key for the lock, so you’ll have to cut the lock if you need to install a different hitch), front fog lights (though I can’t figure out where the switch for those is), as well as a Pioneer CD player and extra speakers and a few other goodies. The dash mat did a good job of keeping the dashboard from getting cracked as well. There is a bed liner and tool box that are installed in the bed.
