1967 Ford Mustang Description

Here is our 1967 Mustang, original C codeV8 with manual trans. The car was bought new right here in Iowa (Des Moines). 2 owners, Same owner for the last 20 years.

Driven on nice weekends only the last 20 years, always garaged, stored in the winter.

Current updates:

Engine rebuild, done professionally by a well known local engine builder.

  • All new parts, Pistons, Rods, Valves, Cam, etc.

  • Mild cam upgrade, sounds really nice, gave it lots more low and mid-range torque/HP.

  • Edelbrock Performer Intake.

  • Holley 650 Carb with electric choke.

  • Chrome Headers.

  • ($4480 for above work +/-2500 miles ago)

Ford top loader 4 speed rebuild with Hurst shifter ($750 +/-1200 miles ago)

New clutch and components – Rebuild linkage (bushings, etc.)

Rear end serviced with transmission

New duel exhaust all the way back, mufflers, chrome GT tips, sounds tough, but not obnoxious ($500 the same time as transmission)

5 New wheels and tires, same time as engine, spare tire/wheel matches ($1700)

All new brakes, same time as transmission ($420)

All new brake, fuel lines and hoses same time as transmission ($265)

All new performance shocks, same time as transmission ($310)

Steering rebuild, all bushings, joints, tie rod ends, etc. ($388)

Drake Performance Traction Bars ($230)

New battery a month ago when I got the car out of Winter storage, old one was 5 years old so changed it as maintenance ($120)

New carpet (old stuff was faded a little) ($240)

Tachometer built into dash

Clarion DRB5475 stereo with remote and new speakers (sounds nice $414 Best Buy installed)

The car cover goes with sale

That’s over $9700 into the car in the last +/- 2500 miles, and it was a decent Mustang before all that.

This car runs really nice, its smooth. I’m only selling because of leg health; my wife and I are starting to have trouble dealing with the clutch at long stop lights (Bad Knees). But we both love the manual, real muscle cars have 4 speeds :)

We added adjustable shackles and springs to rear to bring it up, I don’t like the way mustangs sit low in the rear. It can be easily lowed back down or even raised up more if wanted.

It’s a good driver, it gets lots of looks and compliments, if you want a trailer queen show car this isn’t it, in its current state anyway. It would need the body/paint freshend up to be really nice. It’s a 20 year old paint job, It has chips, etc. that have been touched up. The floor has had some repair work done many years ago. The rear frame area, the frame area behind the engine, and shock towers where many of these Mustangs rust out are rock solid on this car. Signal switch does not shut off on its own when you turn back, have to do it manually? Must need a new switch, which just happened last weekend.

All lights work, a 3rd brake light has been added to the rear window for safety, but can easily be removed.

My Son and I just cruised the car 210 miles last Friday, my Wife drove it around last weekand to work todayas well.

I’ve tried to get many pics of the car, if you want to see something in more detail let me know.

I will help ship anywhere, I have a friend who just got a corvette shipped from Florida to Iowa for $600 (I’m told diesel is cheap now, so shipping is as well) I have the shippers name he used. I contacted the shipper to get some estimates, he said he can do California right now for around $700, and East coast for $600ish, and less in between.

Of course I can’t 100% guarantee cost, and buyer will need to cover the shipping cost with them, but I will help with other aspects of it.

Since I’m NOT a car dealer, please only bid if you plan to go through with it, and you can do the deposit amount immediately after the purchase, and pay in full within 48 hours of purchase. I would prefer wire transfer as I hear about fake cashier’s checks going around again. bank wire is safe and easy for both of us. Of course cash works as well. Title in hand, I’ll send it out overnight certified mail after payment in full.

Thanks for looking
