1977 Ford F-150 Ranger Description

I bought this to amuse myself 2 years ago. My company is relocating me to Texas and this is not coming with me. Why? No A/C, 4.11 gears, short box. Heck, I don't even need 4x4 down there. It's a much better truck for New England with its low gears and short box than it is for Houston.
This truck features:
  • Hey, look at that, original floors. If you decode the VIN, you'll see it was built in San Jose. The guy I bought it from said he bought it from a guy who imported it from out west in 2010. The truck was used on a vineyard for most of its life apparently, which is why the box isn't beat up.
  • 351M that you'll want to replace with a 400 before too long, as this one is getting noisy. $1700 reman, replace with Tim Meyer, Inc. pistons and cams and should make 350hp at the wheels. Easy, but I'm out of time.
  • Hooker headers/exhaust
  • 4.11 gears
  • Functional dual gas-tank setup
  • NP435 transmission
  • NP205
  • Holley 4150 with automatic choke
Things I have done to it:
  • New heads
  • New aluminum radiator.
  • New water pump.
  • New rotors/calipers/pads
  • New shoes
  • New rubber brake lines
  • New e-brake line
  • Entire ignition system replaced (it would stall intermittently, turned out the distributor connector was cracked and leaking)
  • New Distributor connector from a Toyota
  • New windshield washer
  • Removed A/C
  • New heater core
Parts I have yet to install:
  • Brake proportioning valve
  • Two new drums
  • Extra exhaust parts
  • Holley rebuild kit
  • Clutch for fan (don't have the right fan)
The truck runs and drives great, but the engine starts to make noise once it's warmed up. I never worry driving it around town, pulling my boat, etc., but it's going to need an engine at some point. Some surface rust is starting to show - if you care about the truck I wouldn't wait too long before it gets a respray. It made it 39 years, don't make the 40th year its last!
