The Ford Special Vehicle Team’s 2000 SVT Mustang Cobra R is the pony car icon taken to the extreme of pure performance. Developed specifically for racing, 300 of these vehicles were built at Ford’s Dearborn Assembly Plant in March, 2000.
This beauty with only 577 miles features a 5.4L 32-valve, V8 engine solidifying the modular family of engines as the high-performance benchmark in Ford’s lineup. The Cobra R V8 produces an estimated 385 horsepower and 385 foot pounds of torque, a McLeod aluminum flywheel, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, 18 x 9.5-inch wheels and tires, Brembo 4-piston aluminum front brake calipers, Eibach racing springs, and a 21-gallon Fuel Safe fuel cell.
The 2000 Ford Cobra R’s top speed is more than 170 mph. In order to keep this power on the ground, the Cobra R features exterior enhancements including a front air-splitter and tall rear deck spoiler, which create down force for increased stability at track speeds. Cobra R’s interior reflects the car’s high-performance capability.
Inside the car the Recaro seats provide the firm lateral support that is essential for drivers subjected to the high g-forces of racing. Cobra R’s B&M Ripper shifter gives drivers the advantages of short throws and positive stops, and also provides added durability for the rigors of racing. The shift lever is topped by a leather-wrapped knob embossed with the six-speed shift pattern.
In the instrument cluster, a 180-mph speedometer sports the Cobra R emblem. In the rear, the seat has been replaced with a closure panel that covers the floor pan. The area is covered by carpet that extends up the back and is held in place with velcro. For any more information please call Jason Bratcher @ 563-344-8697 OR 563-570-6670.
At our dealership we work very hard to accurately describe our vehicles through text descriptions and elaborate photos. When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle. Any used vehicle can have normal wear and blemishes. Before placing a bid please read the descriptions thoroughly and view all pictures.
