1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe 78K miles
1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe Description
This is a 2 owner car having spent most of its time in Georgia and now being in Texas. It must have been garaged by the original owner, because there is very little fading on the cloth interior(which is remarkable) and all the outer lenses are clear and show no signs of yellowing or cracking due to sun damage. It's been garaged the entire time I've owned it(since mid 2012). The paint is in good shape and shines nicely. Moving from GA to TX, I had the car shipped via auto transport and a tree branch scraped across the roof and creased the rear section. All repair work was done by a reputable shop(which I will give you their business card) and looks good. They also polished the paint and brought it back to a shine. The rear glass rubber gasket was torn, so I replaced it with a brand new trim piece I bought 10 years ago. The car runs great and drives just as well but the rear brakes are noisy until the new brake pads wear in. The heat, A/C, PRC adjustable suspension all work great but the A/C compressor makes a slight chirp intermittently. All original owners manual documents and spare keys come with the car. The clutch engages and disengages as it should and had a chirp from the throwout bearing, but it hasn't made any noise lately. Maybe it was from sitting for periods at a time. There is an area in front of the pass side rear tire that has the paint scraped off, but it's not rusting. I don't know what caused that. All in all, the car is not perfect, but it is a really nice example of a low mileage Thunderbird Turbocoupe. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. I want to make sure you're confident in your purchase.
