Great truck, ready for a make-over and someone to love it. We are re-listing due to an offer falling through...with a small discount.
This 1953 Ford F-100 has had only 2 owners. My dad bought it when he was 16 (second-hand) and kept it his whole life. It runs great and is street legal.
My mother and I always hoped to bring it back to it's former glory, as my dad had planned before he passed. However, that is not something we are able to do...and we would love to see it find a new home and apply the proceeds to our property taxes and insurance.
The truck currently has a'64 289 Mustang 8 cylindermotor (according to our mechanic), automatic transmission (the shift is on the floor board, you push it in on the left and move it up or down...I think that's automatic) and power steering...NO Leaks!!!You can steer this truck with one finger, not exaggerating. And my head snaps back if I push on the gas too quickly when I take off.
I've included photos of the bed of the truck. Both the wood and metal inside the bed and underneath. So, you can see that it is not rusted through.
The odometer is stuck, so I don't have the true mileage.
The original bench seat is in one piece, but needs upholstery.
The hood tilts forward, and that's not all: there is another cab for the truck and it is already primed.
Two new doors, the original lights and chrome pieces are ready to replace those currently in place on the truck (my dad wanted them safe until the remodel)...including original bumper.
The truck does not have column shift.
To commemorate Ford's Golden Anniversary, all 1953 models had "50th Anniversary 1903-1953" spelled out in small letters around the circumference of the steering wheel horn button.
Sales for the 1953 F100 was 116,437. We had the truck appraised for auction and we were told the truck (in it's current condition) is worth $11,000. Reproduction doors sell for $600 each, these are original doors. The cab is valued at $1500. This model truck, restored, sells for as much as $49,000.
Please ask any questions...my mother and I don't know much about selling a truck, so please let us know if anything you need to know has been left out. Also, feel free to request any photos you would like to see.
There is a recording of me starting the truck and it running on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nDCO02afEk
ALSO, ALL THE SERVICE RECORDS ARE IN THE DASHBOARD...STILL WITH MIDAS LIFETIME WARRANTEE ON MUFFLERS AND SHOCKS, can you believe it??!!
Thanks for looking!
