1995 Ford Super Duty F450 7.3 PowerStroke Diesel. 104k documented low miles. Well maintained by the book – which explains why this truck starts and runs so well in any temperature. Click the key and it purrs. Oil pressure well past ½ way on gauge—a sure sign its not use any oil is close to original engineering spec for the Powerstroke 7.3. This engine type and model has exceed 95% of engines lasting 500,000 miles between rebuilds (google it).
NOTES about my beloved truck:
When I change oil, I evacuate the 3 qtrs out of the fuel injection supply tank on top of the complete 11 quarts. Changed oil using Ford’s oil designed for this engine. Coolant is flushed and always checked. Never ever buy a diesel from somepe who isn’t fanatical about these critical maintenance procedures.
Tranny shifts perfectly. Fluid still looks new even after 3000 miles change. Brakes are very strong and smooth. I even put pads on the driveshaft mounted emergency brake which so many times people neglect. The truck was originally bought by the Baltimore gas and electric company who then outfitted it with very high dollar equipment: an 11ft Kneiphide utility bed, a Liftmore Truck crane, a weight distributing torsion frame setup, drop down jack, acetlyline tank brackets.
Has always passed state inspections and has a new (April 2016) VA inspection sticker. So you know exhaust, shocks, tires, brakes, body, defrost lights, windshields etc, etc are all good to go.
The frame is in great shape. Steering feels very good. Cab is mostly rust free. I did need to put my grinder and MIG welder to a few spots on driver side rear cab cover, door sill and lower fenders. I welded metal where practical but there is some fiberglass (to watertight) and glazing putty for smoothing. The paint looks ok from 10ft away and in pics. Up close you will see many flaws including faded paint, mismatched touch up etc.
