1959 Ford F100 with 302 and Auto transmission. The car runs, drives, stops, and steers fine. Needs more TLC before any cross country trips but I've used it to run to the store a handful of times. It has a Floor shifter in it which looks to be from a Mustang. The steering wheel is aftermarket but it looks to have the factory column. Clean Tennessee title with my name on it in hand. The VIN on the glovebox data plate matches the title. Located in Knoxville Tennessee. Great car to go to cruises with.
MECHANICAL:
When I got it it ran rough so I did the following maintenance items:
New motorcraft 2150 2bbl carb (Needs to be tuned. Choke isn't hooked up either)
New fuel filter in carb
New extra fuel filter (before pump)
New fuel pump
Fresh oil change with 10w30
New Oil filter
New master cylinder (Old one was leaking)
Brakes completely bled. (Stops really well now)
Fuel tank drained and cleaned
Techron complete Fuel system cleaner
Replaced tank pickup fuel line From tank
Upon cold start it starts pretty instantly but you need to rev it up for a little bit before it will idle perfectly. The carb needs to be tuned as its new and stock tuning.
One motor mount may be bad according to a friend of mine.
Throttle and Kickdown linkage to the carb need some work as the clips from the original 2100 carb did not fit this carb's bracketry. It is usable and drivable as-is now but I would improve the retaining mechanisms for carb throttle and kickdown before any long trips.
I was told it was a 302 when I bought it but I have not removed the starter to verify the block numbers. It could be a 289 for all I know.
Manual brakes
Manual steering
INTERIOR
No seat belts (Not sure if it was even an option)
Seat Reupholstered at some point
Most knobs look to be there
Most gauges light up
Gas gauge works
Headliner is sagging and someone made a wood structure to hold it up.
Rubber floor matt throughout entire floor
Factory AM radio (Doesn’t currently work but may if it gets hooked up)
“Indy” aftermarket wheel (Very nice wood)
Looks to have factory radio but someone installed an aftermarket head unit mounted under the dash. No face plate for it. Some speakers are under the driver seat as well (looks, not mounted).
Heater Box is there and it came with the heater air tubes but they need repair as they're old and cracked. They're removed from the heater box as of now. I have not tested the heater.
BODY / EXTERIOR
Paint is a very nice color and there are many blemishes in it around the car. Not perfect but it looks great.
Has tasteful black pin striping around it
Custom snapping Bed cover (good to avoid weather)
I believe all chrome/trim is there.
Set of 4 Cragar SS Wheels (need a good cleaning, some surface rust). Rear passenger wheel is a spare tire as the cragar had a blowout. It comes with the matching cragar for a complete set of 4.
Headlights, brake lights, and signals work
Has rust spots around, including tailgate
The roof has not been cleaned as you can see in the photos.COSMETIC ISSUES:
Top rear of cab has some damage (see photos)
Bottom of tailgate has some rust through
Looks to have had some floorboard repair but the frame looks solid.
Window wind vent driver side cracked
Glass has some minor cracks/blemishes around. Passenger door glass has a crack and the back window.
Front passenger side marker is broken
The VIN decodes to:
F10 = F100
C = 292ci 8Cyl 2BC Carburetor 158hp 1959-60
9 = 1959
N = Norfolk,VA
I can get it towed up to 200 miles for FREE to its new home (Using my AAA membership).
Comes with a key which works in the ignition (Untested in doors)
I have TONS of photos and I can take more if you want them. The gallery below has photos different than the ones on the main ebay area.
