1959 Ford Fairlane Description

1959 Galaxie, runs good, as is. I've driven it for the last 3 summers, had control arms rebuilt and rear springs replaced, brakes newer. Heater core was recored. There's an aftermarket 4bbl carb (edelbrock performer 600) and manifold, original 2 bbl and manifold is included. Air conditioning system is all there but the compressor is out, also comes with it. Tires have about 1000 miles on them. The transmission kick down linkage is unhooked and should be hooked up at some point. The transmission shifts OK when warm but slips when cold. Never had an issue driving it and the fluid looks good and not burned.
Old amateur repaint of a Texas car that was brought to Michigan and unfortunately sat outside for a few years. There's are two small areas of rust through in the trunk, some bubbling at the bottoms of the doors and rockers. Floors are all solid. Paint is an older lacquer job, faded in spots from being outside. Interior is very good, seats were redone at some time in original material. Carpet was replaced at some time also, and is in good condition. Headliner is original, a little saggy but not ripped.
As is, runs and drives, cash only and must be paid for at pickup. I have driven it several hundred miles on trips without issue but there is no warranty and in the winter it might be best to have it shipped. Good entry level car for someone who wants to get into the hobby at reasonable cost. Clear title, buyer must pay taxes and fill out title per Michigan law. For sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Must be paid for when picked up, within 5 days of auction end. Car is in storage month to month and could stay there at your expense after it's paid for and the title transferred but talk to me FIRST.

Battery is good, car starts right up. I have the choke set for summer and it could use a tune up. Just fired it up and drove it last weekend.

For what it's worth, this car has the "thunderbird special" trim option and 332 cubic inch engine. Ive also gotten a question about the exhaust. It's in good shape, dual exhausts, quiet except for exhaust manifold gaskets which are easy to do on these cars. Replacement gaskets are included.

There are only 3 original hub caps, one was lost while driving. I have a set of 1955 hubcaps on the car currently. I will include them all with the sale.
