F150 4x4 shortbox regular cab shortbed 4.6 auto southern
2001 Ford F-150 Description
very hard to find short bed, regular cab, which makes for a very tight turning radius. In a 4x4 iseven harder to find. I bought this from Southern Kentucky, so it hasn't seen much salt &has far less rust than your typical Midwest truck. The timing chain broke & caused valves to bend. I removed the heads and had a machine shop do a valve job (little over $700), put it back together with new timing chains, new head bolts, exhaust studsand heads machined. It runs great. It does have 213000 miles, but the steering is tight, brakes work well and starts right up without using oil. 4x4 works. It drives straight without pulling to one side or the other. It's really a pretty tight truck.
Has the good 4.6 engine that doesn't blow out spark plugs.
The body is very clean, but it's not perfect - there is some rust, but no rot. This is a super good candidate to fix - it's not your typical Midwest rust bucket. No fuel tank straps broken, no brake lines rotted, no exhaust bolts rusted. If I don't get at least 3,500 then I will just keep it as a farm truck. It's cheaper than buying a new ATV.
It has a check engine light on and I had it scanned at autozone. They said its a O2 sensor. I plan to buy it and install it before the auction ends.
Located in Sheffield OH 44054, which is about 20 miles west of Cleveland.
