MODEL HISTORY:

1997 (Ninth Generation Ford Truck) – This is the last year of the real “classic” Ford trucks. Arriving in the 1997 Ford trucks lineup was a completely redesigned full-size truck that featured the most radical changes yet seen from one generation of Ford pickups to the next.

Among others, these included all the heavy-duty pickups (Ford F-250 HD and F-350), which wouldn't be redesigned until the 1999 model year.

OWNERSHIP HISTORY

I purchased this beautiful truck in July of 2014. The previous owner had kept the truck looking good and the engine running well but had neglected the drive-train. When I purchase vehicles I tend to make them my project and bring them back to 100% (whatever that might entail). I used the truck for long haul trips back and forth from San Diego to Lake Tahoe and needed the steering to be tight, the brakes to be good and the overall truck to be safe. I went to work upgrading the basics (shock bushings, replacing the lose steering gear, power steering pump etc.) and also updated the stereo system with a new Pioneer unit so that I could connect my phone and talk and play music wireless. A partial list of work I have completed is below, contact me for the receipts, additional photos and prior owner documentation. One of the previous owners was a union welder and a member of the American Welding Society. He welded a steel plate on the tailgate which doubles as a very handy work bench. I believe he had a vice attached at some point, although that was absent when I purchased. It.

I love this truck and do not need to sell, it but my work on her is complete and I am ready to move on to the next project. I would have no problem selling this truck to someone who wanted to fly into San Diego airport, pick it up and drive it across country tomorrow. Given the right opportunity I would love take that journey. When you drive this truck, your king of the road. Its a great experience.

This truck will only continue to go up in value and the 7.3 diesel engine will last almost forever. The body style is beautiful and totally classic. The truck is extremely reliable and starts immediately every time. Once running and on the road the power band is very smooth and runs through all gears with perfection. It has an aftermarket performance chip so the truck is very fast and has a lot of power. The Power-stroke motor sounds great -like a brand new one (very well taking care of). The newly rebuilt transmission shifts great in all gears and feels solid.

This truck has been taken good care of both mechanically and cosmetically. This F-350 comes with the XL trim that comes with the following options: Gray fabric seats, power windows, power locks, aftermarket alarm (anti theft) system, two sets of keys, tinted windows, blacked out hood (aftermarket) to reduce glare, wind shield on hood, gas tank locks, electronic brake controller, front hitch, rear hitch, 60" Hi-Jack with custom bed mount and lock, Marathon Canvas Seat Covers, Pioneer Bluetooth Receiver (with remote) and ancillary mic, factory tow mirrors, chrome bumpers, Steel Horse side steps, Additional Custom bed tie down system (8 points), bed mat, dash carpet (dash underneath is perfect).

The exterior condition is in excellent shape (small ding on rear bumper). The interior is also in excellent shape and all options work (NO cracks in the dash or any door panels on this truck). This truck comes with 4 matching BFG Tires that are in great shape and recently purchased. I can’t say enough about this truck it’s really the one of the nicest7.3LPowerstroke Diesel that’s out there. I don’t drive anywhere without receiving a compliment.

TALKING POINTS

1.Rust Free California Truck

2.For some odd reason, the auto check report I just pulled (3.5.2016) shows the miles being reported on this truck as 255,000 in 2002. I did not notice this when I purchased the truck and 100% believe that this has to be a mistake. When I registered the truck in California I registered it with the miles on the truck at the time of purchase (there were no red flags). I also have the prior ownership documents which correspond with the mileage and ownership lineage (after 2002). I 100% believe this to be an error, it also seems highly extremely unlikely that this truck could have had that many miles on it after only 4 – 5 years. I have not investigated this with the DMV, but I may. Again, if your concerned about this I will email you the documentation I have on the topic.

3.While this truck is in amazing condition for its age and its obviously been very well taken care of, there are nicks, scrapes and a dents (most noticeable on n the rear fender) Expect some minor wear and tear for a truck that is over 20 years old. The interior is near perfect but not 100%. The paint is very good but not 100% perfect, I believe it to be the original paint job.If you look close enough you can find imperfections in the head liner, seats, exterior paint, bed, some minor rust but you have to look very hard.

4.The molding piece which houses the drivers side window controls is missing one screw, it never bothered me enough to fix it. However, that could be very easily fixed by the next owner.Same with the plastic molding pieces which are on the seat bases.

5.No known accidents nor does there appear to be evidence of any. The body panels, doors etc. appear to be very original and true.I have a full carfax report I will email you.

6.The A/C works perfect and blows cold as ice.

7.The engine runs very strong and the truck is fast, I have done everything in my power to beef up the braking power. I think the truck handles very well and is safe.

8.I will provide all receipts for work that I have done to the truck as well as any receipts I have that were provided by the previous owners

9.Original owner’s manuals/books come with the truck.

10.Temperature Gauge should eventually be replaced, not reading correctly. Barely reads the temp at all, the diesel mechanic recommended I replace it.

11.The pictures show the marathon seat covers that I purchased and use (and love). The condition of the cloth original seats are very good and similar to what can be found in the back seat.

12. You could basically eat off the engine its so clean, I have kept it this way since I owned the truck.
