2006 Ford Freestyle - Needs transmission
2006 Ford Taurus X/FreeStyle SEL Description
I am selling my 2006 Ford Freestyle SEL because the CVT transmission suddenly died last week. I was hoping to get a few more years out of this car but I decided to get something newer rather than repair it. Other than the tranny, the car is in great shape and has been very well maintained. Regular synthetic oil changes and all services up to date. I am the second owner and I have maintenance records for my 3 years owning the car. I just put 4 brand new tires on it - they have 873 miles on them. Could be a great buy if you are willing and able to replace the transmission, or if you want it for parts (including brand new tires!). Sorry for the dirty exterior shown in the photos... I did not want to drive to the car wash with the tranny as it is, and it's a bit chilly to wash on my own right now. Be assured there are no dents or rust on the body.
Some Features:- 3 rows / 7 seats. Rear and middle row seats fold down (except middle row driver side which has been stuck lately)- Leather seats- CD / MP3 audio system. 6-CD changer.- DVD entertainment system- Keyless entry (push button on key or enter numeric code on door)- Sunroof- Roof rack (keys included)- Power everything, all in good working order- Reverse parking sensors on rear bumper let you know how close you are when backing up- One of the most fuel efficient 3-row SUV's you can find without a hybrid engine (18 city / 25 highway)- 4 Brand new tires: P215-65-17 General Altimax RT43. (They have 873 miles on them)- Also did wheel alignment and new synthetic oil 873 miles ago- 60% left on both front and rear brake pads
Car was rear-ended a year ago and was repaired at the time including new rear exhaust system.
You are welcome to arrange with me to inspect the car before bidding but it would not be safe for me to offer a road test drive with the tranny in its present condition. Ok if you just want to see how it behaves in the driveway.
Shipping details: Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. Due to the nature of the transmission issues, I recommend shipment or tow. It is possible to drive it away, but do so at your own risk. I have driven it about 10 local miles since the tranny went, and not without several moments of inability to accelerate at low speeds. Since I'm a bit tight on space, car must be removed from property within 14 days of auction close.
