1997 Ford Mustang GT Coupe 2-Door 4.6L - NEAR MINT - ONLY 13.5K MILES!
1997 Ford Mustang GT Description
With regret, I am listing for sale my beautiful 1997 Ford Mustang GT. This is an absolute beauty of a car, that will get looks wherever it goes! It is used, and is not perfect; however, I would not think it incorrect to say you will not find a nicer SN95 Series mustang in this area. You could likely drive it on to a car show field and compete very well. Next year it'll be 20 years old - it's incredible for it's age, but would pass for a car just a year or so old. I believe this had every available option, with the exception of leather seats. It's certainly nicely equipped.
I would like you all to read the detailed description; however, the bottom line up front: This is a great car, with very few flaws or detractors.
Looks Great! No dents/dings/etc. There are some flaws that are listed in the condition details above. I mentioned all of them I know of because I want to be very up front; however, you may not be able to notice any of them the first few times you look at the car - they are not readily apparent. The body has a high-gloss shine to it, and is rather impressive. It did have aftermarket chrome MUSTANG GT lettering added to the bumper - the receipt for it is in the binder. It looks tasteful though, not bad at all.
Interior is incredible. Like new. Period. I did notice a small dusting of white under the drivers seat today when I was taking pictures that wasn't there before. I believe that is foam from the seat cushion - so it's probably starting to deteriorate some on the inside, commensurate with it's age.
Engine and Drive-Train appear to be rock solid. I've put about 150 miles on the car, no issues whatsoever (but there is no warranty, either expressed or implied). Still, I wouldn't hesitate to drive this to California and back....everyday for the next 5 years. There is a binder full of documentation which primarily covers from purchase thru 2009, although there is a receipt in there as late as 2014. It's had some aftermarket work done, but only simple tasteful modifications - and documentation for most of it is in the binder. It also has copies of it's first 2 titles. As I noted, it does have a magnaflow exhaust system on it, which has a pleasing note. Personally, I think around 55 to 60 mph it's a little too loud in the car, but everybody has their own preferences.
Wheels look very nice, but I've noticed very minor curb rash on 2 of the wheels.
No rust on body/frame/etc. I believe this has been garaged by every owner except me (I only have a carport, which is one reason I'm selling).
So if you want to know why I'm selling, there is one big reason: I can't really drive it. It's paid off and not an encumbrance; however, I bought it to drive very occasionally to work (when it's raining), or to town if my wife had the other car somewhere else. Frankly, I won't drive it in any of those cases. It's too nice, and Staten Island traffic is too hard on cars - I don't want to ding this one up. The second I get a ding in it, a good portion of the value is gone. Also, as I mentioned in my listing, I only have a car port. It keeps it out of the weather, but I still have pollen blowing in on it, and while I've taken care of it in the short while I've had it, I can't stand just watching this beautiful red turn yellow with pollen...and then of course I feel obligated to wash/wax, and then there's my Saturday morning.
Please don't email me and tell me how much above "Book Value" it is, I already know. This is no book-value car, if you disagree, that's certainly ok! But I'd just ask you to respect me enough as a seller to leave me alone. This is a premium condition car for a discerning mustang enthusiast, not Jim-Bob's used car lot. The premium price reflects the condition.
I will only accept CASH, in person, at my home. I live on a military base, so it's quite a secure area - you're welcome to set up an appointment to check it out prior to purchase at anytime, just send an email. I have a clean and clear title, and will hand it to you when you hand me the money.
No joy rides available. If you have cash in hand, insurance, and a license, I'll happily let you take it for a test-drive around the base.
Thank you for taking the time to look - have a blessed day!
