2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L V8 4x4 SUV EXTRAS low miles ORIGINAL OWNER avic d3 nav
2003 Ford Expedition XLT Popular Description
NO CRASHES. ORIGINAL OWNER. LOW MILES. DESIRABLE UPGRADES.
Cash only, wire transfer, or confirmed cashiers check by my bank (NO financing or payments under any circumstances). Low ballers are wasting their time.
If you don't take the time to read don't expect me to take the time to respond. I don't need to sell it so I am in no hurry. I just don't use it much so after much consideration I figured I'd post it for sale.
I can arrange for you to see it before you bid and I would suggest this approach.
I am the original owner and have the clean title in hand. No accidents, never in a crash, clean car fax! Many upgrades. This is not your average Expedition of this vintage. My care for this vehicle is evident. Take the time to read this and see all the extras included. No problems. Everything works. It's been a very reliable vehicle. I have been very proactive in servicing and completing desirable upgrades. I mentioned the approximate price of the parts used in upgrades as I detailed them below. This SUV has thousands of dollars of extras included. I would take this SUV anywhere and it should be good to go for a long time. I maintained it like I would own it forever because that was the plan.
Keep in mind, according to Ford, the average F150 sold for the past 2 years has averaged $44,000. The Expeditions cost even more. What will a brand new one of these do that this one won't (especially at 5 times the cost)? Do everything from commuting to work to family vacations to towing a trailer. Do you really want to pay all that depreciation, sales tax, etc on a new truck when that money would make a much better investment elsewhere?
This is the second generation Expedition and was way better than the first generation 1997-2002. Some of the major changes were it was the first full size SUV to have fold flat into the floor 3rd row seating, rack and pinion steering instead of recirculating ball, and the first full size SUV to have independent rear suspension. Beyond that it had a whole new exterior look that still serves as the basis of the latest 2017 Expedition today. This design was ahead of its time and represents a great value now. Also keep in mind the generation after this had some pretty serious problems with the spark plugs and ceramics breaking off inside the engine. 2nd gen is the sweet spot in this platform.

In the last year or two for instance this vehicle has brand new coated brake lines installed throughout, new brake flex lines, new brake master cylinder, new transmission oil lines installed, new parking brake cable, a new radiator, a new radiator cross member support, new power steering pump, and a new optima red top battery. That's at least $3,000 in service right there.
Upcoming recommended service has been taken care of already. All 8 spark plugs already replaced with no problems along with all 8 coil on plug replaced (OEM) (parts alone ~$300)
Brakes and rotors were serviced recently as well and are great. Rotors were replaced with new Bosch Quietcast lifetime warranty rotors from oReillys and Duralast Gold CMax ceramic lifetime warranty brakes from AutoZone. The parking brake pads were done too. (parts alone ~$600)

EXTERIOR
Oxford White color
Paint was already redone in a few spots on hood and at seams by Ford dealer when it was 5 years old
Has a few spots that could use some touch up paint next spring near wheel wells and lift gate.
Expeditions up to present day are all known to have some issues with paint bubbling on the aluminum surfaces of the hood and liftgate. Sometimes in other places like door seams too. This one is not immune to that but is better than most. Not too hard to make look decent with a few bucks in matched paint at the auto parts store and a couple hours of your time. There is perforation on the rocker panels but that is typical and isn't visible unless you get on the ground and look up at it. The Expedition is body on frame construction so rocker panels are not structural members like a lesser unibody design. If it's important to you then have a body shop change out the rockers. The whole radiator cross member support was replaced as this is a typical need on an Expedition or F150. The original ones don't last due to the multi layered stamped steel being thin on the bottom and rusting out. So it's like new on this Expedition and that was a very costly job.
