1996 Ford E-350 Club Wagon Handicap Van 5.8 Fresh Transmission
1996 Ford E-Series Van Description
Up for sale is a 1996 Ford E-350 handicap van with fresh rebuilt transmission. I am the second owner. It was owned by the state of Maryland until 2012 when I bought it. Obviously preventative maintenance was performed regularly since it was a state owned fleet vehicle. I have also done the same with it. It has 123,xxx miles and rising as I have been driving it almost everyday. It has an exterior Braun handicap lift that lifts an adult and wheel chair easily. The lift should be serviced soon as I haven't done it since I've owned it. In the last 2,000 miles we have replaced the following:Transmission - still under warrantyTransmission cooler linesRear main sealPower steering pumpPower steering linesRadiatorWater pumpHeater hosesAlternatorIdler pulleyTensionerPlugs, wires, cap, and rotorFuel filler neck and hoseIgnition and door lock cylinders - keyed alikeAir and vacuum filterSerpentine belt
We replaced all of this for it to be reliable with the intention of keeping it for awhile but unfortunately we no longer need it. Obviously, my loss, your gain. Again the transmission was rebuilt last year at the cost of $2,100. It has less than 2,000 miles on it.
The bad:The body has quite a bit of rust. The turtle top should really be cleaned up and recaulked because it occasionally leaks a little in the right rain and speed. It has an oil leak from the pan gasket. That was in my plans to replace but just haven't had the time.A/C doesn't work. Compressor is good but a line leaks all the freon out within a few days.
This van isn't the prettiest thing out there but it is reliable and has been great to me. I have used it for all kinds of projects the last few years. Feel free to contact me with any questions. The vehicle is located on the NE side of indianapolis and can be seen anytime. Obviously, it is an older used vehicle and is being sold as-is. Read Less
