Im retired from the US Air Force and I got this because I was trying to start a small preowned car dealership. Was going to make it into a gooseneck hauler. I drove it around and parked it, while driving, it went into LIMP mode and the code said "Diesel Particulate Filter needs cleaned" Now cant get it started and starter is very weak, even with dual charged batteries...
I had a mobile diesel mechanic come and look at it...He stated that the turbo seal may need replaced because its allowing oil to blow through the turbo (and run form the air intake hose etc and spray out from the pressurized pump, he said that this may be the reason exhaust filter is getting soot in it and putting it in limp mode and its common in diesels and also said the turbo setup looks new and the impellers are spotless and spin freely without any rattle/play etc...So the SEALS for the TURBO I guess is the issue, but its sold as-is to high bidder! I know nothing about diesels so feel free to bring your mechanic to verify or to check it out yourself BEFORE BIDDING? It will try start although takes awhile but he said try not to because continuously burning the oil and starts at a high RPM like its still in the CLEANING MODE can foul the injector tips etc..So its parked! Turns over easy and smooth and I want to keep it that way! LOL.....He also said the entire turbo system both high and low pressure turbos look new and Ive included pictures with the intake hose off so you can see it...he said that sometimes when a new turbo is installed, the installer doesnt get the rubber seals completely seated and n a short time, the seal allows the oil to come through... Now the starter is really weak due to the long attempts to start, I may have a new one for the winner, I ordered one and its paid for! UPDATE: I ORDERED A NEW STARTER SO WINNER WILL GET THAT ALSO!
Im not a diesel guy so any of you DIESEL GODS, you probably know how to replace turbo seals or clean the DPF Filter or whatever. It also has new bushings, sway bar strut and etc!
It had been kept indoors and kept clean. It was purchased new as an Extended Cab and Chassis just as it looks now and I have the original window sticker and all books etc that goes with it...Body, Trans and 4x4 system is worth more than $10,000, and anyone who knows diesels knows that!!! BODY IS LIKE NEW...Not a speck of rust, dents, scratches or etc! No cracks in the dash or door panels or glass, no saggy headliner. Has AC, Heat, Power Windows/Locks, trailer brake, stereo with CD, much more! Tires are almost new...Engine spins freely when you turn the key...has remote key..etc. Oil and Filter were JUST changed Feb 6th 2017...Genuine Motorcraft Oil! Thats what the Mobile Mechanic Said to do as well....
Notice how clean and it hasnt even been washed yet! Notice not a SPECK of rust even in the cab corners! Frame is just as nice! It is 100% stock and never had a tuner or performance parts put on it!The ONLY accident(if you can even call it that), verifiable by the autocheck as well, is the wide extended side mirror scraped someones van in a parking lot! Dealer replaced, like new!
Its a $17,000-$22,000 truck. It is a one owner and I can show you the AutoCheck....Miles are right at 199k..

Batteries were bad so it has no batteries, however I can put one in so you can verify that it turns over and isnt locked up etc!
