2009 Ford F-350 XLT Description

EXCELLENT CONDITION 2009 FORD F350 DIESEL 4WD CREW CAB PICK-UP We have decided to go to a motorhome, so I am reluctantly selling my F-350. I am the 2nd owner, having bought it from MSU (Michigan State University) in August-2015 to pull our 28' travel trailer. We got an honest average of 11 MPG over a 1,700-mile trip to the UP of Michigan last year while pulling the loaded trailer. And, if you keep it at 65 to 70mph (with cruise control), you can average between 19-22mpg without pulling a trailer. It has a factory-installed electronic trailer-brake controller, and an outstanding towing capacity. It would pull our 28' travel trailer without effort! If you have a 5th-wheel trailer, all you would need do is to remove the custom topper to use it. I like the additional covered storage of a full topper, so we always pulled a conventional trailer.

It had a (known) injector problem when I bought it from MSU, so I elected to be safe and replace the entire fuel system, including all injectors, both fuel pumps & filters. Also cleaned both fuel tanks, and had a compression check just to be sure (checked out perfect)! All parts used were MotorCraft/Ford. Additionally, I always run full-synthetic Shell Rotella 15-40W (diesel) T6 motor oil, and this truck requires 15 quarts!

For added fuel economy and towing capability, other improvements are AFE 4" straight-thru stainless steel exhaust system (with 24" straight-thru muffler), a 75-gallon, computer-controlled auxiliary fuel tank (with 38 gal primary for 113-gal total capacity!), giving us a 1,500+ mile range! Also added a Spartan Phalanx II Computer/Tuner for added versatility($1500). Additionally, I also added a 1500# capacity "Bedslide" so I didn't have to crawl in and out of the back of this thing when loading/unloading; I love it! It's kind of like a giant drawer in the back of your truck; works great!

I wanted this truck to look good and be super-reliable, so I also added 20" Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires and Ford custom wheels ($2500). Replaced all U-joints in driveline, and rebuilt front end components, including tie-rod ends and Track-bar, and added a heavy-duty Bilstein steering dampener. This truck, if bought today in it's exact configuration, has an MSRP of $57,000+, and the new ones require DEF additive regularly, which this 2009 model year does not.
