1972 Ford F-250 Description

Up for your consideration is a Custom 1972 Ford F250 truck with a service box. This is one of the cleanest trucks you'll find. This truck is part of my uncle's estate and was his pride and joy. He had a cab over camper on the truck and the bed was custom made to fit that camper. The camper has been removed and is not included in the sale.
My uncle kept detailed records of the maintenance that he performed on the truck in a small book that dates back to 1977. This book as well as a folder full of receipts will be included. The entire truck was reconditioned starting in early 1990 (receipts from the purchase of the service bed prove this) and was completed in May of 1990 at a mileage of 100,200 miles (00200 on the odometer). The 460 engine that is in the truck is out of a 1987 F350 and was rebuilt and installed in May of 1993 at a mileage of 111,500 (odometer 11,500). The last entry in the log is May 27 1995 and it shows that all the cases were checked (fluid level I'm sure) and there was a temporary repair made to the bell housing. This repair is still in place and holding well. The truck was parked in his shop in Smith Valley NV in October 1995 and put up on jacks for long term storage. Fuel mileage logs that he started in 1995 show the last time it was fueled was on October 13, 1995 approximately 4 miles before the current odometer reading. It was stored in the same spot in his shop until January 27, 2016.
The fuel was drained, several fuel hoses replaced, the fuel pump replaced and the carburetor rebuilt at this time as the old fuel had taken it's toll over the years. It has two tanks installed, the stock tank behind the seats in the cab and an auxiliary tank at the rear of the truck. I don't know the capacity of the rear tank as I haven't filled it. I do know that the fuel valve works because I pumped the fuel out of the tank through that valve and the filter that is located close to the valve with an electric fuel pump.
All of the accessories on the truck work including the radio, the CB radio, the heater as well as the Air Conditioning. I have run it through all the gears in 2WD and 4WD. They all work. The brakes have been bled and work well. The engine starts up and runs well but could use some final tweeking on the idle circuit for the carburetor. It runs a little rich at idle. I'm not sure how well the fuel gauges work as I have not filled either of the tanks full since draining the old gas.
I replaced all the valve stems on the tires because they were all leaking. The tires did not get damaged from the loss of air over the years because the truck had been stored on jacks with the tires completely off the ground.
The truck has battery trays for power to the camper as well as some sort of power supply with a high idle solenoid switch on it. I do not know how that works though. There are no batteries currently installed in those locations.
The paint is in excellent shape with some minor exceptions. Some of the pin-striping on the hood has faded and there is a small area on the top of the left side of the bed where the plumbing from the camper's sink had rubbed on it.
The interior is in exceptional shape. The center console had been removed at one point and will need a little work to re-attach it as it was originally designed.
This truck was appraised in 1993 at $9,000.
The transmission is a NP 435 4 speed. The transfer case is a Dana 24. The rear end is a Dana 60. It has 4:10 gears.
Other photos are available upon request. The camper will be available separately to the winner of the auction if he or she desires. It is a late 60's vintage and does have some issues. That is why it is not being sold with the truck in the auction. Please message for more info on it.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions. I will answer them to the best of my knowledge of the truck.
The truck is located at the shop my uncle used as his vacation "get away" spot in Smith Valley Nevada. Smith Valley is a small farming community about 1 1/2 hours South South East of Reno NV.
The truck has a clean CA title in my name. It is currently not registered, but is Non-opped and has no back registration fees. The truck is sold AS IS WHERE IS. NO WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.
