1992 Ford Thunderbird SC - 5 Speed Manual
1992 Ford Thunderbird SC Description
Car was spec'd and ordered from Larry Bird Ford in Martinsville, Indiana. It was used primarily to commute from Bloomington, IN to Louisville, KY (100mi), three or four times per month for an airline pilot job until 2004 when it became a back-up vehicle and was driven a few times per month. Carefully adult driven (mostly highway) and most maintenance performed by me. Complete maintenance records available. Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires are less than 3 years old, approx 3K miles. Wheels very good, have never had a bead leak.
The head gasket blew out last month (white smoke, water in oil.) Symptoms: sudden miss, white smoke under hard acceleration. Found coolant low, about a quart of coolant in the oil. Drained all coolant, replaced oil and filter and ran engine briefly (under 30 seconds) a few times to recirculate fresh oil. Then drained oil again, replaced oil and filter and repeated process. I need the garage space for a new car on order and rather than repair it myself have decided to sell the SC as is.Car is completely stock with the exception of a 5-Point Deist Racing Harness that was installed because the power seat belts did not seem adequate and much of the work commute was middle of the night. With the exception of time spent at the airport, vehicle has always been garage kept. Clutch is original.
