1997 Ford F-250 XLT Description

1997 Ford F250 Extended Cab Long Bed XLT 4X4 7.3 Liter Power Stroke Intercool Diesel with an Automatic Transmission. I am the second owner and did a complete full body off frame restoration back in 2009 to factory specifications.

I have only driven this truck during sunny weather days and have never driven this truck during bad rainy days or during the winter months and store the vehicle in my heat garage year round. You would have to see this truck to fully appreciate its condition. The inside of the bed has no damage and has a professionally done spray in bed liner.

Interior: Features the grey cloth bucket seats along with the flip up center console. It has powered windows, power door locks, powered mirrors, tilt steering, cruise control, cold air conditioning, and the factory CD radio. The dash pad has one slight crack just above the radio. The truck has a nice factory black rubber flooring instead of carpet. The headliner is in excellent condition with no rips or sags. The overall interior is in excellent condition with really no wear.

Exterior: Royal Ford Blue and hard to find in this color. . .

Drive Train: Features the 7.3 Liter Power stroke turbo diesel. An update was done during the restoration and a factory installed intercooler slated for the 1999 PSD was installed. This feature never came with the earlier PSD's but is a great addition when towing keeping intake air cool. The automatic transmission was rebuilt @ $2500.00 and utilized top of the line Redman clutches with a $1000.00 billet torque convertor. There is a manual 4X4 transfer case with manual warn locking hubs which I feel are much better than the automatic hubs. The factory gear ratio is the 4.10 option code C5. The engine had been updated with new Alliant Stage II injectors @ $3500.00 along with a new Adrenaline High Pressure Injector Pump (HPOP) @ $689.00 purchased from Beans Diesel for better towing capabilities which is the only I so call modification done. The truck whether towing or not averages 23 mpg depending how you drive but can move pretty quickly if needed because of the injectors.

All of the sensors were replaced for maintenance reasons on the engine with factory Original Equipment Manufactured (O.E.M.) replacement parts, Crank Position Sensor (CPS), Engine Oil Temperature Sensor (EOT), Injection Control Pressure Sensor (ICP), Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR), Injection Control Pressure Regulator (IPR), Water in Fuel Sensor, Injector Driver Module (IDM) 140, Fuel Heater, updated Glow Plug Relay, New Glow Plugs, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), Lift Pump, new upper and lower radiator hoses, updated valve cover gaskets with factory glow plug / injector wiring harness inside the valve covers @ $1500.00. The turbo was rebuilt by Superior Diesel @ $1200.00 with new factory updated down pipes and updated with a NAPA 6637 air cleaner for better fuel economy and breathability. Both front and rear axles were checked and gone through for maintenance and replaced all u-joints with Spicer and a new factory (O.E.M.) driveshaft slip ring. I replaced the ball joints, tie rod ends and did an alignment. Rebuilt the front springs which is basically an F-350 and added Rancho shocks front and rear. Installed two dry cell Optima non-acid batteries @ $500.00 because of longevity along with factory (O.E.M.) replacement alternator and starter. The exhaust system is a 4 inch for better performance with a walker muffler made for diesel engines @$700.00.

This truck was never chipped nor added a programmer. However, the truck makes very good power as it is. I only used this vehicle if I am luck to say, two to four times out of the year to trailer my show car to local shows in town around Troy and is a beauty when I did show up. I have gotten many comments in how beautiful this truck looks and are asked often, what year the truck is.

I sold the trailer and have a wrecker truck now and decided to sell this truck and cringe thinking about it. You will not be disappointed and are basically buying a close to a new truck. . ..
