1997 Ford Escort 1997 LX Wagon - 5 passenger, 2.0L SPI Engine, Description

Up for sale is a 1997 Ford Escort Wagon. I had purchased this as a second/backup car but have not been making enough use of it to justify me putting money into it.
The car has under 76,000 miles on it. As for features, look at the picture of the original sticker. The original invoice sticker that says "solar tinted glass", I don't think anything is tinted. I assume that at some point the previous owner had the windshield replaced.
Note: Most of the pictures were taken a number of months ago when the weather was a bit warmer.
Keep in mind this 20 year old car has a low mileage engine and transmission, you can fix the exhaust and drive it, you can fully restore it or you may want to buy it to harvest the relatively low mileage engine and transmission.
It definitely needs the whole exhaust system replaced. A piece of the exhaust system pipe (towards front of car) is rusted out and missing, the muffler is rusted out. The service engine soon light came on. The code is "P1036". I suspect the sensor is complaining because the rusted out exhaust pipe.
There is a small chip/crack in the front windshield. I had it treated when I bought the car around 2 years ago. There is a dent in the front passenger side fender, around the wheel well, which was there from the previous owner. There is quite a bit of under body rust and rust around the wheel wells. The rust damage around the wheel wells, where the ice accumulates after driving is worse than the pictures show as I kicked the area to remove the snow and some of the metal crumbled. Also, the back bumper is detached on both sides of the car, due to rust, this separation is visible in some of the pictures.
Here is how I am going to work this auction. If you are going to buy it you must buy, pay for, and remove car during the 7 day auction period. You can submit a best offer. The offer can be under $500. When you submit your offer you will tell me when you want to come and see the car (between 6am and 5:30pm - weekdays or weekend). If your offer is reasonable I will make arrangements for you to see the car. Once you see it, you can decide if you want to complete the purchase. If yes, then we will do the paperwork and payment (cash only) and I will then officially accept your ebay offer and you will be free to take car. Do not bid with the expectation of coming here and renegotiating the price in person as you will just be wasting your time as well as mine.
I will be removing plates and registration sticker from window to protect myself, so you will need to tow the car unless you have dealer plates or something like that.
I will ignore all low ball offers as I can take the car to the scrap yard myself if I wanted a scrapper price.
The spare tire and jack are in the car.
Sold as is. No warranty. No guarantees. No returns.
One last piece of advise. Do not wait till the last minute to put in an offer. The sooner you put in a reasonable offer and come and look and buy the car, the more likely you are to become owner of this car.
