2001 Ford F250 Extra Cab 4X4 Diesel
2001 Ford F-250 Description
Included in this purchase you will receive an entire build book with photos and almost all the invoices. Photos include the truck in primer before the panels were blocked.
I bought this truck from a family friend after he side swiped a tree in the center median. The left side of the truck was damaged. Almost nothing was repaired, everything was replaced except the cab corner. Fender, hood, both doors and bedside. All body parts were replaced with OEM parts not aftermarket. The headlights are aftermarket as I like the clear corners and 04 style look.
When the truck was being repaired I had the truck completely torn down in order to do a complete color change. The inside (roof, back panel and floor) was coated with 3M sprayable sound deadening material (7.3 are a little loud for my taste). All panels were painted off the truck using Axalta paint and clear. Three coats of clear was used to have enough material to polish out any desert pin striping that may occur down the road. All panels were primed and blocked before being painted. The truck is as straight as an arrow. The carpet was replaced with a rubber backed carpet to reduce noise. The headliner was recovered at the same time.
In the last 500 miles I have put a complete front end, which includes, hubs, bearings, upper and lower ball joints, again OEM Ford parts. The inner and outer tier rods, pitman arm, outer seal and track bar were replaced with aftermarket parts. I like that these specific aftermarket parts have joints that are serviceable.
In the last 1500 miles I have put a new AC compressor, manifold hose, condensor and O-Tube.
In the last 2k miles I have put a billet wicked wheel for my turbo, new Ford intercooler rubber fittings, up pipe and fuel bowl. I have a mild tune and 4 inch exhaust which allows me to safely keep the truck at a slightly elevated boost level.
My tires are 285/75/16 Toyo AT II with about 15K miles on them.
Transmission was replaced 39k miles ago with a upgraded torque converter and shift kit. You know when she shifts but its not ridiculous by any means.
I put 300k miles because thats a big number. I do not know what the true mileage is.The truck is mechanically sound and drive very well. I bought this truck because I have always wanted a really nice 7.3 Powerstroke, and guys with "nice" 7.3, are one, not as nice as they think, and two want more than they are worth. While I love this truck it is WAY more than I need. In the last two years I have towed nothing and have hauled nothing bigger than a couch.
If you have any questions please let me know. I will try reach back out to you as quickly as possible.
