2006 Ford Mustang Premium Pony Package 4.0L
2006 Ford Mustang Premium Pony Package Description
I am the second owner. Bought off lease from an executive friend that wintered in Florida via a local Ford dealership.
I'd planned on making it my commuter car when I bought it six years ago but I was given a company vehicle several weeks after buying it so it became my 'museum piece' to sit next to my '70 Ranchero GT.
I've put a little over ten thousand local, rural highway miles on it in the six years I've owned it.
Pony Package with all options, very low miles, never seen snow, has only seen rain a few times, babied, engine compartment and underside are as clean as the top side.
Exceptionally clean and like new....
And lest I forget to mention..... it's really nice.
I don't really want to sell it. Probably nicest and cleanest car I've owned over the last 43 years. And that's why I rarely drive it. I'd hate to drive it in rain, have never driven it between October and April, NEVER seen snow and just the thought of getting bugs all over it's nose makes me queasy...
It pretty much sits in the garage on a battery tender 350 days a year.
Been detailing it when bored every winter with Q-Tips... There's not even any dust in the engine compartment.
I was going to buy a GT but the lighter front end and front to rear weight balance ratio just feels nicer during average back road twisty driving.
My 2003 Expedition has 175,000 miles on it, it's my daily driver and I need to get a newer and lower mileage 4x4 truck or SUV for daily use and hauling my antique motorcycle restorations so unfortunately, bye bye Mustang.
Sniff.
Calling the 2006 Pony Package V6 Mustang a "Base" version is far from the truth... The 2006 Pony Package V6 Coupe has pretty much everything that the 2006 GT Premium has. Suspension upgrades, wheels, interior and even the four speed automatic transmission are identical to the GT with the exception of lighter front springs for the lighter V6, smaller front brake discs due to lighter weight and a smaller differential. Otherwise same car with one less exhaust hole in the rear fascia and no GT badges. And better insurance premiums.
New stuff:
Forty-eight month NAPA Gold battery last summer with battery tender connector, K&N permanent air filter, tires (Firestone Indy 500) 4,000 miles ago, drilled & slotted front brake rotors, low dust ceramic front brake pads, GT style grille and highway lamps (Original one boxed and in trunk), fuel filter, original window sticker, Piano Black steering wheel inserts (The reflective bright brushed aluminum ones drove me crazy. Originals in glove box), cooling system flush last summer with thermostat replacement and that's it.
Hey..... it's still pretty much a new car.
Castrol synthetic oil and Purolator Premium filter changed annually.. There's been more time than miles put on the oil.
Might be 4-5 tiny stone chips on the whole car......... it's hard to find them...
Hand glazed to eliminate swirl marks.
Lovingly hand waxed with Mother's Synthetic wax
Throwing in an indoor type Tyvek car cover and Hayne's shop manual.
If you need to ship, I'm here pretty much 24/7 to assist in loading.
I'm 90 minutes from Chicago O'Hare and Midway airports and 30 minutes from South Bend, Indiana Regional Airport.
If you are interested in a partial trade plus cash for your 2010 or newer GM or Ford 4x4 pickup or full size SUV, let me know....
It's detailed and ready to go.
I love this car...
You will too.
