LOW RESERVE!!!! IBought this 1950 Ford F1 Pickup from the Original Redstone, Montana owner 3 years ago. He is still living today at 97 years old. He and his son did a frame off restoration in the late 70s so the paint on this truck is about 40 years old but still looks good at 20 ft. He had a new Mercury Marquis at the time that was painted gold and he loved the color so he painted the truck to match. At that time he had the engine rebuilt by an old time V-8 flatheadman and the engine still runs beautiful. When I found the truck it was sitting in a barn and had been sitting there for years so Its really a barn find. It had been driven very little since it was done. The son got the truck running and he drove it on the trailer when I picked it up.
This is what I have done since that time.
New master cylinder, brake cylinders, most of brake lines replaced, New brake shoes on front (rears looked like new, all New brake springs all the way around, New front wheel bearings, New front shocks, New tie rod andNOS tie rod ends, New battery, New completewiring harness for speedometer was send away and restored. (but when I installed it the needle fell off so I am sending it back to be fixed) New repro 1949 car steering wheel with rechromed horn and very nice original center. Looks Beautiful! Completely rebuilt 3 speedtranny (By Bozeman Transmission). I used the guts from a 1951 Ford car in the tranny so it has a taller 1st gear than a truck.New Clutch, Throw out bearing, Presure Plate, Fly wheel resurfaced, Gear shifter chrome plated and knob painted to match steering wheel, NewCooper Cobra tires, 225/70 on front and 255/70 on the rear, Powdered coated 6" wheels on front and 7" on rear. New hub caps and New trim rings. Wheels and tires have less than 150 miles on them, New Reds Headers, All new custom exhaust with dual Stainless Steel tips, (see pictures) New steel pack mufflers, Plugs, rotor and condenser, This truck I believe has never had any rust but there is some minor bubbling under paint on left front fender close to seam (see pictures). The hood is a little wavy!I am sure I forgot numerous things that I have done to this truck. I was going to have doors lettered FAT DADDY'S Speed Shop on the door but couldn't find anyone close buy to do it and drive as is.
Things that need to be done,
Heater has never been hooked up, Hose on wiper motor needs replaced, Inside heater hose need replaced, Steering wheel needs to be centered, If I kept the truck I would replace plug wires, Rebuild carb and maybe rebuild steering box, (has a little play but not that bad, might be able to adjust) The bed floor is plywood and needs painted but is in good shape.
I am trying to represent this truck the Best I Can and not mislead anyone. This is a Nice Old 65 Year Old Pickup rain/snow per year. Montana has never used salt on the highways so we don't see very must rust.
Montana is a Very Dry State with only about 12" of
