PARTICULARS:
BODY: Straight! - VERY good shape, very little rust - Only accident was about three years ago, where someone backed into its rear quarter in a parking lot "fender-bender" - The sheet metal pulled out easily and the scuffed rear bumper was repainted, professionally - only superficial damage - The top, itself is in good condition, although there's some slight wind and water leakage through the rubber seals where it seals to the windshield header and door glass (HEY!! - It's a convertible!!) The top motor was replaced about a year ago. - The body integrity (this can be a problem, particularly with convertibles) is excellent due to the fact that I had the subframe connectors and strut tower brace installed immediately after I bought the car - Left headlight assembly needs replacement (water condensation inside) - The paint is not too bad for a 23 year-old vehicle that hasn't been garaged in the last twelve years
INTERIOR: Black Leather - Driver's seat frame is broken - The seat needs replacement and can be hazardous due to this fact - The driver's seat seatback leather is in bad condition - The passenger seat is in good condition - The carpeting and interior panels are good (this is important in convertibles as interior replacement parts are not as easily obtained as those for coupes) - Radio/Cassette player works - Sony CD changer probably needs changer module replaced - Power windows all work but they sometimes drag (alignment?) - Tachometer usually reads about 700 rpm BELOW actual engine speed
DRIVETRAIN: ENGINE: Seems to be reasonably strong for its age - may be leaking coolant through recently replaced used throttle body into engine - TRANSMISSION: Good - Clutch: Good, but clutch cable and quadrant need to be replaced (it sometimes engages right off the floor and sometimes where it's supposed to) - REAR AXLE: Needs new bearings (this would be an opportunity to change out the 3.08 differential for a higher numeric one / the most important performance modification for these cars)
SUSPENSION and TIRES: Generally good - right-rear shock may be bad (noise) - Alignment seems to be OK - Bridgestone Potenza RE760-Sport Radials have about 17,000 miles on them (wear seems appropriate)
OTHER: Radiator needs replacement, SOON - A/C has been updated to R-134 refrigerant and blows cold
RECENT (last 12 months) WORK:A/C Updated to R-134 refrigerant and new discharge lineNew TFI Module and PIP sensor in distributorNew Motorcraft Idle Air Control ValveNew Motorcraft Ignition CoilRepair on wiring harnessNew Walbro 255 Fuel Pump and Motorcraft Fuel FilterNew Borg-Warner Ignition SwitchThrottle Body (used)Rebuilt Alternator
Buyer must sign release acknowledging driver's seat and any other safety issues; releasing seller from any injury, death or property damage claims
It's a great "driveable project car"
I've had a lot of fun with it over the last nearly sixteen years
