1999 Ford Mustang Cobra Description

1999 Mustang Cobra Roush Stage 2, YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=mPEgUFsLJQw

Roush Serial #3079 (decal on passenger door jam), from whatI can find there were only 3 factory built Cobra Roush Mustangsin 1999 (a convertible -- stage 1, one for Jack Roush family member --stage ?andthis one -- stage 2 +). I also talked to the pinstriper Gary Berg out of CA (very well known and nice guy) he pinstriped and painted the graphics on this carin 2001 and sent me some pics from 2001 showing his work along with the original Roush decal on the windshield, Roush side exhaust and Roush wheels (see pic)-- so it looks likethis Cobra wasupgraded at RoushPerformancewhen new in their factory.Roush didn't start tracking VINs until2001, so in 1999 you go by serial badge and upgrades which this car has and I highly doubt someone would have cloned it before 2001. Roush upgrades that I knowof --signed dash by Jack Roush, Roush Performance serial numberbadge on passenger door jam, frame connectors,Eibachlowering springs, Maxium Motorsports adjustable cast/camber plates, Roush rear wing, Roush rear bumper,Roush side exhaust - Borla mufflers (no exhaust leaks sounds really good),short throw shifter (very tightand shifts perfect), Tokico gas shocks, Roushaluminum pedal covers, drive shaft loop and pinion snub, different airintake with K&N filter,Upgraded clutch (harder pedal), Large aluminum radiator, BBK long tube headers, and probably more I don't know about yet. The car has 135,000 well maintained miles on it, no smoke, tics, knocks or leaks, oil is very clean, cold AC, power drivers seat, cruise control, new brake padswith slotted and drilled rotors, CA and AZ car so zero rust underneath, no paint work that I can see other than a few chips and at some point a newer front bumper was added (better style), new carpet and I put OEM front seats in because the leather was not in the best shape on drivers seat(have pics of old seats), upgraded stereo, CompuStar alarm system with remote (works), original owner added a passenger airbag key shut-off for his dog that rode along with him in the car, brand new wheels and tires, not sure if steering box isstock but turns very quick, runs, shifts, brakesand drives perfect even at 100+mph or when you brake hard! Try to find another 1999 Cobra Roush Coupe Mustang -- I can't find one anywhere on the net. Very Rare! For sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call or email with any questions and happy bidding -- I have 100% positive feedbackand have been an EBay memberfor many years. Dave 612-987-1878

Below reply email from an employee at Roush - (my response to theserial badge comment by Gavin --To me it looks likethe badgewas coming off door jam so the previous owners taped over it to adhere better -- if you look closely you can see the original glue marks, this was a CA and AZ car so the heat probably caused it to startpeeling off jam. If it were a clone I don't think they would want the badge to look like this).

Dave,

We received it. I ran the serial and VIN number in every system we had and I could not pull up anything. I did come across a sale brochure, see attached. It looks like you have everything listed. The picture from 2001 you included looks like it had the right wheels and the right window banner. At some time the wheels were replaced along with the windshield banner. The only thing I don’t like is serial badge, it looks like it’s been removed several times. I did have some of the older guys look at and they couldn’t confirm. It looks like the real thing but some people are good at making clones. The more I look at it, the more I think it was a ROUSH built vehicle, sorry I can not confirm.
