The venerable million mile 7.3 diesel. Has upgraded Garrett Turbo and exhaust from an 06 truck. Starts cold, runs great. Downshifts hard into 2nd and reverse (bad synchros or linkage?) but works great in all gears. This truck is a powerhouse! built for towing. Has frame mounted receiver and gooseneck ball plus brake controller and trailer light plugs in bumper. 336K miles and climbing as I'm using the truck till it sells. 4x4 and everything works. Needs a stereo. Interior is complete. Dash is nice and has a dashmat. Drivers seat has a small tear at edge and a few marks and stains, but for a 97 the interior is in remarkable shape.
Ive heard 97 was the best year for this engine. the way this thing runs I believe it.
Has new Fuel pump, Serpentine belt and tensioner, thermostat, fuel filter and heater, bought new OE Ford Motorcraft Glow plugs, but don't think it needs them. Starts well in the cold. New plugs will be included with sale.

This is a leak free and rust free truck. Its been in New Mexico all its life.
Tailgate latch is a little sticky and its white, so doesn't match the red paint. Id like to see a 5th wheel tailgate on it, or no gate at all. There is a custom fit 2x10 board across the back of the clean dura-lined bed so stuff doesn't fall out when you run it without a tailgate. Clear coat on roof of cab and hood is failing, and one of the hinges on the hood should probably replaced. If i can find a red hood with a better clear-coat at the local salvage yard ill put it on and update the ad this week.
