1977 Ford Maverick Description

You have to ask yourself, when was the last time you saw a Maverick on the road? More importantly, when was the last time you saw a Maverick that you actually wanted to own? One that turned heads, and got people talking. Well this adorable, low mileage, unmolested beauty will convince you that the time has come. 25 years ago we took these service mules for granted. We drove them until the wheels fell off, then sent 'em to the scrap yard. Fortunately, someone had the foresight to tuck this little gem into their garage. Protecting it from the elements and something far worse than the elements, other drivers! That groovy 1970's plaid cloth interior is All Original!, as is the carpet, door panels, dash, headliner and entire interior, sans the updated CD player. It is literally a step back in time to bell bottoms, sideburns and Brady Bunch re-runs. 1977 was the last year of production, so this was the end of an era.

You cant help but smile when you sit in her. When you hit the starter and that all original 6 shooter fires off and purrs like a sewing machine, you are reminded of how well this car was pampered. Smooth and quiet, just like Henry intended. No smoke, no clanging and banging, just perfect synchronicity. As you motor down the highways and biways, she rides smooth and steady. The automatic transmission shifts clear and concise every time. Two fingers are all that are needed to keep this Pony in her lane. True and straight she rides. All lights, heater controls, fans, radio, wipers, function flawlessly. It truly is a pleasure to drive.
The exterior has been re-finished in its original hue of yellow. Although it is not a high end show quality paint job, it is show worthy if that makes sense. It is VERY nice. It presents very well and I'd give it a conservative 7 on a10 scale. Its equal to any factory paint job of the era. There is one small imperfection on the hood caused when someone tried to shut the hood when the hood latch was not secured. Its about the size of a nickel. (See photo) This is a Washington State car, where we do not use salt on the roads. Translation; this car is rust and rot free! That's right, no cancer, no hidden rot or surprises. The trunk and floors are perfect. The chrome bumpers shine like new. All of the exterior brightworkhas beenpolished to a beautiful sheen, or replaced with NOS. They are not milky, or faded or sandblasted with road rash, they are perfect.Like a Hollywoof movie star, the original green vinyl top is beginning to show its age, but it is not torn or ripped or shrinking. All of the original glass, including the flawless windshield is intact. The car currently is kept indoors and under cover.
